Buffalo Bills sanctioned the trade with Houston Texans which saw their chapter with Stefon Diggs slam shut.

The controversial wide receiver will now play his football in Texas as the Bills could not wait to get rid of him.

As a result, the Bills have got alarmingly weaker and the Chiefs rivals may not pose as big of a threat.

However, this could see the rise of a new threat to the Chiefs’ throne with the Texans getting stronger.

But this trade has considerably weakened Josh Allen’s weapons on offense.

Bills pose threat to Chiefs NFL Draft selection

The departure of one wide receiver could have opened the door for another.

Buffalo now has plenty of reasons to target a highly-rated wide receiver in the draft.

Therefore, the Chiefs may now need to worry about another franchise scooping up a weapon they may have on their wish list.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver core has shrunk since their latest Super Bowl victory.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling was cut to open up $13 million in cap space.

Mecole Hardman has hit free agency after catching the Super Bowl-winning touchdown in overtime.

Kadarius Toney has fallen out of favor in Missouri, with Mike Florio saying he has ‘no future’.

Additionally, there is uncertainty surrounding the rookie sensation Rashee Rice’s situation.

Mock drafts predict Chiefs to select a receiver

Numerous mock draft predictions have suggested the Chiefs will select a wide receiver in April.

Links have been made to Ladd McConkey for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Furthermore, draft predictions have stated the Chiefs could be gunning for Xavier Worthy.

Worthy set the fastest 40-yard dash time ever recorded (4.21 seconds).

Reporters have compared the receiver to Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes could use that speed once more.

Nonetheless, Kansas City secured speedy free agent receiver Marquise Brown to a one-year deal so they have their speed.

The Chiefs could trade up

Could the Chiefs be inclined to trade up before the Bills’ selection?

Bills currently hold the 28th pick in the first round and the Chiefs hold the 32nd.

If fearful that the New York State team will steal a target, the Chiefs may be inclined to do so.

Yet, this wide receiver class’s talent runs deep, the Chiefs will have multiple options.
