Mecole Hardman has released a statement responding to allegations against him.

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Mecole Hardman has moved to shut down accusations he leaked game plans while on the New York Jets.

SNY.tv made the allegation that some Jets players thought Hardman had leaked details of game plans to opponents.

It came after Hardman criticised the Jets professionalism during an appearance on the Pivot podcast.

Hardman’s agent had already called the allegations ‘laughable’.

Earlier, ESPN personality Stephen A Smith urged Hardman to speak out and defend his character, saying ‘You cannot be silent’.

While he did not pick up a microphone to do so on camera as instructed, he did release a statement on social media, following his advice to speak out.

Mecole Hardman statement

Mecole Hardman wrote on X: “There were FALSE accusations made about me and MY CHARACTER!

“To set the record straight, I have never and would never leak gameplans to another team.

“I have never been a person to give an opponent an upper hand I always want to win no matter the circumstances!!!!!”

The end of the matter

This should be the end of the matter and unless proven, Hardman does not deserve to have to deal with these claims.

He is basking in the glory of catching the Super Bowl winning touchdown last month for his third ring with the Kansas City Chiefs.

There is clearly bad blood between him and the Jets, but his statement should draw a line under this saga.
