Cowboys fans had a moment to rejoice in the free agency window as the franchise landed established linebacker Eric Kendricks.
After being released by the LA Chargers, the San Francisco 49ers called him and agreed to a deal.
Jerry Jones and his executives swooped in and stole Kendricks after it was reported he had a ‘change of heart’.
Consequently, this move did not go down well with the San Francisco fans on social media.
Cowboys first move
Americas Team’s inactivity was deafening in the early stages of free agency. Fans were perplexed as to why no moves were being made.
Many NFL personalities called out the Cowboys’ decision-making, including Dez Bryant.
However, it would not be the Jerry Jones way if he did not make a grand entrance.

Executing the first steal of the offseason was perfect in ‘Jerry World’.
Kendricks reunited with his former head coach from his Minnesota Vikings days, Mike Zimmer.
Zimmer was appointed the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator on a one-year deal last month.
The two did not see eye to eye as the linebacker claimed the DC created a ‘fear-based organization’ at the Vikings.
Ultimately, this has not deterred him from joining the Cowboys.
Why Eric Kendricks was signed
A sense of relief could be felt through Cowboys Nation as they are addressing a key issue for their run defense.
Stephen Jones has spoken about their recent addition via the Cowboys media team.
It is safe to say he is enthusiastic about the player, Jones said: “I think he’s gonna be a great fit. He’ll walk in and be one of the leaders on this defense right away.
“He knows exactly what Mike [Zimmer] is trying to accomplish with this defense; and he will know it as well as anybody.”
Franchise owner and father of Stephen Jones, Jerry, stated a problem was their run defense last season.
With Leighton Vander Esch seemingly going to be forced into an early retirement, they must add to the linebacker position.
Run game needs addressing
The Cowboys have now made a statement signing and Cowboys fans will be hopeful there are some more to come.
The running back role still remains an issue with Tony Pollard gone.
So, is that the next item on the agenda? We will wait and see what is next in store.
