49ers fans react on X as Dallas Cowboys hijack Eric Kendricks deal

Cowboys fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as they have made their first meaningful move within the free agency market but at another team’s expense.

America’s Team’s front office managed to pull the strings behind the scenes as they secured Eric Kendricks to a deal.

The linebacker reunites with his old Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.

Kendricks and Zimmer reunited

Zimmer signed a one-year deal in February to become the Cowboys defensive coordinator.

However, the relationship between the two seemed to have ended on frosty terms.

Kendricks said Zimmer ran a ‘fear-based organization’ after his new DC’s departure.

Nevertheless, they are going to have to see eye-to-eye if they are going to run a tight ship on the defense.

The 32-year-old was reported to have agreed to a deal with the San Francisco 49ers but ‘had a change of heart’.

After verbally agreeing a deal with the 49ers, the first offseason steal has been achieved.

Dallas steals Kendricks

With the Dallas Cowboys managing to prize away as a player from an NFC rival, this is a step in the right direction.

Ultimately, the Cowboys are looking to compete for the NFC Championship.

The 49ers won the trophy last year after defeating the Detroit Lions.

There would have been good reason for San Fran to be looking to secure the services of Kendricks.

Furthermore, the Cowboys stealing him demonstrates that they are building a similar-level roster.

49ers’ fans left fuming

Understandably, many 49ers fans are very bitter about the development and have reacted accordingly on X.

@EdTGO posted: “Lmfao! He knows Dallas desperate for LBs and now he can start all season. Rather than get benched once Greenlaw gets healthy. Good move for Kendricks honestly.”

@birobdogg2022 claimed: “Looks like he signed his rights away to ever win a SB.”

@MichaelGeo2213 had this to say: “If he wants to suffer first round exits the rest of his career that’s just right. Cowboys are a nowhere team.”

@millertimejk had this reaction: “You can have him. Parsons needs another guest on his podcast when they very destroyed by the actual contenders again. We always seem to do well at LB.”

Kendricks’ ‘change of heart’ has not gone well with the fans on the West Coast.

According to the schedules for next year, the Dallas Cowboys will play San Francisco on the road.

That could be a tasty affair as Kendricks lines up in blue and silver instead of red and gold.

Is this one of many big moves for the Cowboys in the offseason?
