The day of reckoning is now upon us and the crucial point in the offseason where Super Bowls can be one or lost is here.

Brett Veach will be taking his seat in the war room later this evening alongside Andy Reid.

In unison, they will prove their drafting intelligence once again in the first round.

Mock drafts across the league have the Kansas City Chiefs picking an offensive tackle or a wide receiver with the #32 pick.

However, Veach did not rule out a trade upwards into the top-15 but he would have to be supported.

Mike Florio predicted the Chiefs will pursue a cornerback in the first round instead of addressing the offense.

The Chiefs’ front office is set on drafting a wide reciever early

The receiving core is a top priority for the Kansas City Chiefs as multiple players were released.

In addition, Rashee Rice’s legal trouble has thrown his NFL future into doubt and ESPN reported he is set to receive a multi-game ban.

Therefore, the problem is spelled out in front of us.

The offensive linemen class of 2024 runs deep, so the Chiefs could wait for Day 2 to draft their left tackle.

NFL Combine

On CBS they discussed which player the Chiefs will select when on the clock and Adam Schein had an enthusiastic response.

Confidently, Schein stated: “Ladd McConkey to the Chiefs; it’s not fair…He’s going to have this unbelievable Puka Nacua kind of rookie season.

“The Chiefs are going to find a way to win the Super Bowl, even though you’re gonna have people like me picking against them all the time.

“They’ll take Ladd McConkey or the fastest guy in the draft.”

Schein was adamant that the Chiefs would select the incredible route runner out of Georgia.

Ladd McConkey has already wished to work with Patrick Mahomes

Furthermore, the receiver has stated any player would be ‘lucky’ to run routes and catch balls from Patrick Mahomes at the NFL Combine.

The 22-year-old’s lighting agility makes him one of the best slot receivers in the draft and is a threat at all three levels downfield.

Per the NFL, the receiver is a projected day two selection only because his 2023 injuries have affected his draft stock.

Nonetheless, some mock drafts have him as a late first-rounder.

McConkey could fall right into the Chiefs lap on the opening night on the NFL Draft.
