The NFL Draft is now just one day away and Brett Veach will have refined his priority selections for the roster.

Three days before the NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs confirmed that Andy Reid and Veach were signing extensions.

If Kansas City was not a desirable place to be drafted to already, they have now made it so.

Moreover, for a rookie to be drafted and achieve their dream on the reigning Super Bowl champions roster will be special.

Mock Drafts have the Chiefs taking a WR or LT with pick #32

The hype around the draft always sees the emergence of analysts, reporters, and fans mock drafts.

For the Chiefs, there has been a similar theme across all their first-round predictions.

Most projections have Brett Veach drafting a wide receiver or an offensive left tackle in the opening round.

One half of Pro Football Talk, Chris Simms, doubled down on this theory saying they cannot leave the draft without addressing these two positions.

However, the other half of PFT Mike Florio has gone against the general NFL consensus for the Chiefs.

Mike Florio believes the Chiefs will take a cornerback in the first round

Florio has produced his first and only NFL mock draft after months of souring information on team needs and rookie talent.

The NFL reporter believes the Chiefs are going to target the defensive side of the ball early.

Furthermore, his mock draft confirms that he predicts the Chiefs to take cornerback Ennis Rakestraw JR. out of Missouri.

Per the NFL, the local prospect is predicted to be a Day Two projected selection.

Rakestraw only has managed one interception during his college career but has an excellent anticipation to knock balls free.

Chiefs have an excellent scheme to develop cornerbacks in rookie years

He is predicted to be a suitable backup corner who has the potential to be a starter under the right guidance.

As L’Jarius Sneed departed for the Tennessee Titans, the Chiefs are one body shy in the cornerback core.

Trent McDuffie is expected to make the step up to CB1 after his First-Team All-Pro campaign.

The franchise can nurture Rakestraw just like they have down with their other defensive backs in the past.

Steve Spagnuolo could be the perfect man to maximize Rakestraw’s potential.
