The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to a trade for the star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed but he now experiences something for the first time in his career.
Sneed was given the non-exclusive franchise tag in early March and has now been traded away.
The Tennessee Titans have acquired the services of the two-time Super Bowl winner despite the interest of several teams.
Sneed joins the Titans to boost the Chiefs’ cap space
Moreover, the Chiefs decided to open up $19.8 million in cap space by allowing Sneed to be traded away.
As a result, they have been able to hand out various extensions, with the most recent being Mike Danna.
Sneed joins a well-shaped Titans unit that has made powerful statements in the offseason.

The 27-year-old had stated he wanted to return to the Chiefs and ‘three-peat’ but the dream was not financially viable.
Sneed wanted to be one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league and Brett Veach could not oblige.
So, the tagged star landed in Nashville and could enjoy the payday he had requested but not as the highest paid in his position.
Sneed gets to play with ‘elite’ receivers for the first time
Since departing the Chiefs, Sneed has said he has had the opportunity to experience something he did not in Kansas City.
He joins wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley at the Titans and stated he did not have the opportunity to play with two elite receivers in Missouri.
When asked about playing with two receivers by NFL media, Sneed said: “To get out there and work with them elite wide receivers, I never had two elite guys like them, going up against them every day.”
Additionally, he proceeded to say: “I had great players, but them two guys, household names, they stick out. I can’t wait to get to work with those guys. I know they’re gonna make me better in practice, and I can’t wait to pick both of their brains on how to get better.”
Sneed implies that playing with the receiving stars will help him to get better when he plays against them in training.
Chiefs lacking an elite receiver since Tyreek Hill
This suggests that Sneed did not have the opportunity to play against the same caliber of receivers in Missouri.
However, this is true, since the departure of Tyreek Hill in 2021, the Chiefs have lacked an established wide receiver number one.
Furthermore, Kansas City has gone about addressing its receiving core issues.
Marquise Brown was signed to a one-year deal from free agency but still is not ‘elite’.
The same could be said for Calvin Ridley who joined from the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.
Sneed now faces better talent in training which will elevate his game from his viewpoint.
