Dez Bryant wants Cowboys to sign recently released Baltimore Ravens star

After the rush of the ‘tampering window’, very few top-tier options remain for the Dallas Cowboys to pursue as their starting running back.

Multiple targets that the Cowboys were reported to be interested in are no longer available.

All over social media, fans were confused as to why the Cowboys did not pick up the phone once.

Missed opportunities for Cowboys

As the franchise was waiting, other teams did not need to be told twice to get down to business.

Nine running backs signed deals on Monday, with two more off the market by Tuesday.

Jerry Jones has refused to deviate from the budget he has in mind.

Therefore, players landed elsewhere and not in Dallas.

What is left for the Cowboys?

If they are searching for a running back who could produce 1,000 plus yards and transform their running game… then not much.

Rushers such as Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, and Saquon Barkley who were capable of that feat have found new homes.

Dez Bryant, the former receiver for the Dallas Cowboys has been very vocal with his free agency disappointment.

He proposed Aaron Jones as an option when there was limited choice left but the Minnesota Vikings took him.

JK Dobbins to Dallas suggested

Now, the ex-Cowboy has suggested a new player on X: “You know who would be a great fit at the RB position for Dallas? JK Dobbins!

“I know he’s hungry and destined for a big season with the right opportunity A lot of those young guys will see first-hand what hard work looks like, just a thought.”

Dobbins was a hot prospect and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 NFL draft with their 2nd pick.

After an impressive rookie season rushing for 805 yards, his potential came crashing down.

He suffered a torn ACL in the 2021 pre-season and his sophomore year ended.

Then Dobbins seemed on course to bounce back recording 427 yards in seven starts. However, he endured a knee injury that saw him sidelined from October 22nd to December 10th, 2022.

Poor injury record

An ACL tear in week 1 of the 2023 season was significant enough to end another season for Dobbins.

From a prospect who was destined for a promising NFL career to now struggling to stay healthy, it is not a sensible option.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old has only played nine games in three seasons.

As much as Bryant knows Dobbins has the hunger, it is not a financially viable option.

America’s Team requires a healthy and consistent running back.
