Veteran receiver Dez Bryant seems displeased with the team’s running back situation.
After five seasons, the Dallas Cowboys have lost Tony Pollard, who was the team’s lead running back in 2023. Since the team chose not to use the franchise tag on him, Pollard was available as a free agent, which naturally sparked interest from other franchises in the RB.
He signed a three-year contract worth $24M with the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. During his time in Dallas, Pollard racked up 4,940 total yards from scrimmage and 28 touchdowns in 79 games.
Moreover, he had consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 yards with the Cowboys, reaching the Pro Bowl in 2022. The former Memphis University prospect finished 2023 with 1,005 rushing yards, six land touchdowns and 311 air yards.

Aaron Jones released by Green Bay
As the market continues to buzz, news has come out that Aaron Jones, running back for the Green Bay Packers, has been released, after they announced the signing of former Raiders back Josh Jacobs.
Jones is one of a handful of solid runners who were available in free agency, but so far the Cowboys haven’t been able to react to the blow of losing Pollard.
Dez Bryant, Dallas wide receiver, showed his thoughts on a potential deal for Jones, who has history with Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in Green Bay.
Former wide receiver Bryant wrote: “It’s almost a no brainer at this point”.
Aaron Jones played a key role in Green Bay’s crushing wildcard win over the Cowboys back in January, scoring three touchdowns in a 48-32 victory.
Bryant also made it clear that he was upset about Tony Pollard joining the Titans. It seems the veteran is feeling helpless with the Cowboys’ lack of moves.
“No, he’s not your every down back. But he’s a damn great change of pace back who made big plays. Zeke was let go a year too early now Pollard is gone because of bad management. I’m looking forward to seeing what Dallas backfield will look like this year.”
From now on, all Dallas has to do is put together a quick plan of action for the opening of free agency, which is just around the corner, and restructure their running game.
But time is already ticking. Saquon Barkley has signed with the Eagles, and De’Andre Swift has signed for the Bears. Teams are making their moves.
