Tyreek Hill sends message to Marquise Brown after super-fast wide receiver signs with Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs have added a new downfield threat with wide receiver Marquise Brown.

Hollywood Brown signing with the Kansas City Chiefs will have sent a sense of fear across NFL defenses.

The speedy wide receiver will stretch the field and make Patrick Mahomes even more dangerous, while creating more space for Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice to do damage too.

And then what happens when the Chiefs sign a new receiver in the draft? Even better.

Super-fast Hollywood Brown

Data from NFL’s Next Gen Stats series breaks down how Hollywood Brown will add a new dimension for the Chiefs.

A post on X read: “Marquise Brown has reached 20+ mph on 33 routes since 2020, 2nd-most in the NFL behind former Chief Tyreek Hill.

2Brown will look to add speed to a Kansas City wide receiver room that reached 20+ mph on a route just 5 times last season, 6th-fewest in the NFL.”

The Chiefs parted ways with Tyreek Hill when he signed a deal with the Miami Dolphins in 2022, where he became the NFL’s best paid wide receiver. He recently said there were other reasons he wanted to leave too.

Kansas City have missed Hill, yet have still won two consecutive Super Bowls since he left, in addition to the one he earned with the team.

Hollywood and Tyreek swap messages

New Chiefs signing Hollywood Brown was blown away by the numbers Hill has put up.

The Next Gen Stats post showed that while Brown has 33 routes at 20+ yards, Hill is a leader by a considerable distance, with 73 routes.

Brown reacted to this on X, tagging Hill in the post, writing “That boy @cheetah be moving!!”

Tyreek Hill responded, wishing Brown all the best in his new landing spot, his old home in KC.

He congratulated him on the one-year deal, writing: “Thanks brother I’m proud of you and from one fast brother to another God speed.”

Brown is yet to win Super Bowl in his career, and is in a great place to try, a team desperate for a three-peat.

Hill’s Miami will find it tough to compete this year, letting go of a number of key players in free agency, perhaps counting the cost of his big contract.
