The Chiefs are reported to have agreed to a deal with Louis Rees-Zammit, but his arrival could be the final nail in the coffin for one Chiefs star.
One of the most intriguing prospects on the International Players Pathway was the man dubbed ‘Rees Lightening’.
The former rugby star decided to call it quits in rugby union and pursue a career in the NFL.
Moreover, he was the youngest ever player to be called up to represent the British & Irish Lions.
Chiefs excited for Rees-Zammit’s speed
Renowned for his blistering speed, he has recorded a top speed of 24.2 mph.
That top speed is faster than superstars DK Metcalfe and Tyreek Hill.
However, it must be considered that his top speed is without the extra weight of a helmet and padding.

The former rugby player visited the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday and has confirmed a deal.
Unsurprisingly, when the back-to-back Super Bowl champions come calling it is hard to turn them away.
Chiefs Kingdom will have a new face to cheer on come the opening day of the season.
Rees-Zammit has achieved his dream of crossing the Atlantic Ocean and joining the NFL.
Rees-Zammit is a threat to one player
While he celebrates, could this be the beginning of a nightmare for one player?
The 24-year-old has joined the roster and is precited to be used as a running back/wide receiver.
In addition, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz has reported that the Chiefs will give him a shot as a kick-off returner.
With the new kick-off rules being established, this is a ‘significant’ signing.
This new signing could have a serious impact on Kadarius Toney.
Toney also operates as a wide receiver and a return specialist.
It was only last year that Toney recorded the longest punt return in Super Bowl history against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Furthermore, the 25-year-old has shared return responsibilities with Isiah Pacheco.
His role may dimmish significantly with the speedster Rees-Zammit in the picture.
Toney has ‘no future’ in Kansas City
On top of that, Toney endured a poor season in his receiving role.
After multiple dropped passes, he was practically frozen out of the squad, with the Chiefs claiming he was ‘injured’.
Mike Florio stated he believed this to be the Chiefs’ way of suspending Toney with pay.
The Pro Football Talk presenter has said he thinks Toney has ‘no future’ in Missouri and is surprised he has not been disposed of already.
Once again, Rees Lightning’s arrival will limit his role even further, if he even has one come the 2024 season.
Could the Welshman’s signing be the beginning of the end for Toney?
