The NFL Draft is only days away and the Kansas City Chiefs will deliberate which position they address first.

Brett Veach is set to call in his first choice with the last pick of the opening round, the price you pay when winning the Super Bowl!

Mock drafts have been produced in abundance as fans and pundits try to predict the Chiefs‘ first move.

Chiefs set to target a left tackle or wide receiver in round one

The consensus amongst sources is that the Chiefs will look at a left tackle or a wide receiver with their first pick.

Patrick Mahomes’ blindside is vulnerable with 2023 starter Donovan Smith hitting free agency and rookie Wanya Morris does not have the nod.

In addition, Andy Reid stated at the NFL Combine that the wide receiver core was a flaw last season.

Mecole Hardman and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have been released.

Kadarius Toney is back training but endured an underwhelming 2023 campaign, with mistakes littered throughout.

Moreover, Rashee Rice’s off-field legal battles have cast severe doubt on his availability for 2024.

So, a wide receiver is also a position that could be addressed early in the draft.

RGIII proposes a receiver who will give the Chiefs the best chance of the ‘three-peat’

Former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III has taken to X to share who he thinks is the Chiefs’ best option as a receiver.

The 34-year-old has tipped Xavier Legette as a ‘match made in heaven’ for the Chiefs roster.

Furthermore, the receiver out of South Carolina is Patrick Mahomes’ best option if he wants to hunt down the ‘three-peat’.

Legette is said to be a round-two prospect for the draft

In 2023, Legette registered 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns off 71 receptions. He registered a career-high 217 receiving yards against Jacksonville State.

According to NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein, Legette is a projected second-round pick.

Therefore, the Chiefs could bide their time and target a left tackle with their first choice.

Then they could target a wide receiver in the next round and address their most important needs early on.
