Adam Schefter reveals which teams were in talks with the Chiefs for L’Jarius Sneed

L’Jarius Sneed has put pen to paper on the biggest offseason trade so far as he lands in Nashville.

The Tennessee Titans have their star defensive player and have sacrificed a small margin for an excellent player.

Sneed was given the non-exclusive franchise tag as the Chiefs had their mind set on paying Chris Jones.

Furthermore, they have opened up $19.8 million worth of cap space after getting Sneed off the books.

Chiefs could not meet Sneed’s demands

Now, the Kansas City Chiefs have a small amount of draft capital at their disposal.

The Titans seemed to have secured their cornerback without any hassle, as the contract with Sneed is perfect for the 27-year-old.

Sneed was looking to be paid near the top of the market and received it in the form of a four-year deal worth up to $76 million.

However, did the Titans have to fend off rivaling interest from other suitors?

Schefter reveals teams in conversations

Adam Schefter spoke on the Pat McAfee Show where he revealed all: “They (Chiefs) did speak to other teams.

“One point briefly with the Vikings, there was a brief conversation with the Colts, although Pat I told you, again, both sides told me it never went anywhere. I don’t think L’Jarius Sneed to Indy was ever a real viable option.

“Tennessee was the team that was in on him all along, that is ultimately where he will wind up once he passes this physical today.”

As confirmed by Schefter, the Titans had very little trouble securing the green light from both player and franchise.

Titans led the race for Sneed

Seemingly, all roads for Sneed led to Nashville.

Although, the Minnesota Vikings were trying to have their say in the proceedings. Nothing materialized and conversations fizzled out very quickly.

The Titans were the front runners the moment the tag was placed upon the star and held progressive talks.

Sneed will now be lacing up his cleats in the light blue jersey.

Tennessee has an excellent player on their hands for outstanding value.
