Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are regarded as two of the greatest of all time.
Competitiveness is a trait that Baby Goat and Goat share.
However, they both have different histories and trajectories within the sport.
The fact that they have travelled different paths has strongly influenced the way they see and deal with the game.
Regardless, both Mahomes and Brady have become NFL legends and, as a result, have raised the bar for the next generation.

A future starter against a hitherto “eternal” backup
Mahomes entered the league with expectations of succeeding Alex Smith at the Kansas City Chiefs, showing his exceptional talent and leadership skills from an early age.
His meteoric rise culminated in league MVP and a Super Bowl title in his first few years as a starter. Today, he has won three titles and is looking for a fourth.
On the other hand, Tom Brady began his career as a low-key draft pick, set to be Drew Bledsoe’s backup on the New England Patriots.
The turnaround came unexpectedly when Bledsoe was injured, paving the way for Brady to take over as the starter.
From then on, Brady not only consolidated his position as starting quarterback, but also became the greatest of all time. He played until he was 43 and won seven titles.
TB12’s path to stardom has had some negative consequences for him.
Seriousness outweighs fun
For The Pivot podcast, Brady recalled his career with the Patriots and said that at one point the pressure at NE made him put aside the fun side of playing American football.
The stricter rules within the organisation took the shine off a little.
The GOAT mentioned Patrick Mahomes as a figure he admires because he never loses the twinkle in his eye and never stops having fun on the field.
“When I see these young players, I see like Patrick (Mahomes) out there at quarterback, running around, laughing, having fun,” said Brady. “I’m like, ‘I used to be like that. What the hell happened?’”
“I just got too serious, but, again, I can only look back and think , ‘Okay, if I do it again, which I’ll never do again, I would be different’. But the reality is, you can’t.”
