The Kansas City Chiefs have been on the prowl for more talent in the offseason and have welcomed back Mecole Hardman who could create a formidable threat for secondaries.
Brett Veach has authorized the return of Super Bowl game-winner Mecole Hardman back on a one-year deal from free agency.
Hardman was allowed to hit the open market after hauling in the touchdown from Patrick Mahomes which meant Kansas City became the first team in 20 years to win successive rings.
Mecole Hardman returns to the Chiefs from free agency, as looks to forget his Jets spell
Hardman spent four seasons on the Chiefs roster before leaving for the New York Jets but endured an underwhelming spell.
Moreover, he caught just one pass in the five games before he was traded back to his maiden franchise and proved his value at the holy grail in Las Vegas.

Hardman hit out at the Jets’ ‘standards’ which prompted frosty backlash from punter Thomas Morstead and All-Pro cornerback Saunce Gardener.
In addition, accusations emerged that Jets players had accused Hardman of leaking game plans to the opposition but nothing substantial emerged.
Hardman joins two new receivers Marquise Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy as weapons for Patrick Mahomes.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver core 40-yard dash times at the NFL Combine
In March, Worthy made history after posting a 4.21 40-yard dash time that broke the all-time NFL Combine record.
Marquise Brown who joined as a free agent from Arizona, posted a 4.27 split when participating in his Combine program during 2019.
In Indianapolis, Mecole Hardman fell just short of Brown’s with 4.33, and current starting running back Isiah Pacheco recorded a 4.37.
Out-of-favor wide receiver Kadarius Toney will be looking to make an impact in his contract year and boasts athleticism with a 4.38 40-yard dash back in 2021.
The Kansas City Chiefs have focused on speed during the offseason because the front office has said that ‘speed kills’.
Patrick Mahomes stated that the roster is built for him to throw deep in 2024 and speed is the best way for receivers to open that opportunity up.
Chiefs Kingdom has been whispering about the potential new ‘Legion of Zoom’
The Chiefs Kingdom has been suggesting that the ‘Legion of Zoom’ from 2018-2021 is now back on offense.
Furthermore, the explosive nickname was given to the wide receiver core consisting of Hardman, Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson, and Byron Pringle.
Tyreek Hill is now with the Miami Dolphins, Watkins is a free agent, alongside Pringle, and Robinson is with the Los Angeles Rams.
Mecole Hardman’s return means the Chiefs have welcomed one of the founding fathers of the ‘Legion of Zoom’ home.
Chiefs Kingdom is trying to resurrect the nickname with the current roster of players after the return of Hardman.
Ultimately, the roster’s speed will threaten all defenses in the league, and the secondaries will have to be quick on their feet to match the Chiefs’ receiving core.
