Shannon Sharpe’s stunned reaction when told Lamar Jackson could win Super Bowl with Kansas City

The NFL world often likes to deal in hypotheticals, but Shannon Sharpe was left extremely perplexed when he was told Lamar Jackson could win the Super Bowl on the Chiefs roaster.

If the regular season MVP and the Super Bowl MVP were to switch positions, the same outcome would have occurred at Super Bowl LVIII, according to Chad Ochocinco Johnson.

Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson only met once during the season and it was in the all-important do-or-die AFC Championship.

Lamar falls in the AFC Championship

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback had the opportunity to appear in his maiden Super Bowl, but fell at the final hurdle as the number one seed.

In a low scoring affair, the fine margins would be vital in determining the winner of the Lamar Hunt Trophy (17-10).

The soon-to-be three-time world champion showed his class at M&T Bank Stadium: throwing for 241 yards, a touchdown and completing just under 75% of his passes.

In contrast, a costly interception thrown by Lamar Jackson and a blindsided fumble saw the dream of a Super Bowl final slip away.

Touchdowns on the opening two drives courtesy of some vintage Mahomes passing, meant the damage was done early on as they booked their spot on the Las Vegas strip.

Fellow three-time Super Bowl champion, Shannon Sharpe, proposed the question to Chad Johnson: “If I took Patrick Mahomes and put him on Baltimore, how good do you think they would be?”

A seemingly mind blown response followed from Johnson: “Holy ___.”

Sharpe responded saying: “You [Johnson] had told me the Baltimore Ravens top to bottom had the best roster in football, so why you say Holy ___.”

The former Cincinnati Bengal countered Sharpe with his own statement: “You take Lamar Jackson and you put him on the Chiefs you get the same thing.”

‘Are you serious?!’

Sharpe, the former tight-end was stunned: “Are you serious?!

“So if I’m putting Lamar on Kansas they’re winning the Super Bowl?”

Johnson was adamant that this would be the case: “Yes, offensively it would be a different dynamic, they have a great defence, they still got Spags and Andy Reid.”

Unquestionably, both the franchise quarterbacks have a unique playing style which has brought their own success.

As Johnson states that the Ravens had the most talented roster in the NFL, why did they crumble?

An answer could be Mahomes and the Chiefs have the playoff defining craft which has evolved over the previous seasons.

If Jackson was placed on the Chiefs with an elite play caller like Andy Reid, could he deliver similar success like his counterpart has?
