The Dallas Cowboys experienced closing out a season on the back of another dreadful playoff exit.
Factions of Cowboys Nation have been questioning whether Dak Prescott is the true answer for Super Bowl success.
However, the Cowboys front office has been handcuffed because of Prescott’s extortionate cap hit next season.
Prescott saved Cowboys’ cap space
They recently confirmed a minor restructure has taken place to save $4 million on the cap.
Nevertheless, it remains a massive stumbling block and limits their ability to splash the cash in the offseason.
Additionally, home-grown talent like Micah Parson and CeeDee Lamb are looking to get paid big.

Questions have circulated if Jerry Jones is willing to allow his quarterback to play out the rest of his contract.
However, Stephen Jones has indicated that the plan has always been to keep the 30-year-old in Dallas on an extension.
Jerry Jones’ instant success
Jerry Jones won three Super Bowl titles within his first seven years of ownership.
Experiencing one of the best ownership takeovers ever witnessed in sporting history.
The success quickly dried up and the Cowboys have not competed in the Super Bowl, nor an NFC Championship game since 1995.
Jones is hungry to taste the success once again.
It is severely underwhelming that the most expensive sporting team in the world has not touched silverware in nearly three decades.
One of the questions Jones needs to ask himself is, is Dak Prescott the quarterback who could deliver a ring?
So far, in eight years, the answer has been no, they have not even come close.
Jerry’s age factor in the Prescott decision
Radio Hall of Famer, Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo, debated on ESPN if the America’s Team should have moved on from Prescott.
Mad Dog claimed there was one reason why Jerry Jones would refuse: “I think the key thing here is Jerry’s age.
“He is 82 years of age. He wants to win a Super Bowl, what’s he gonna do get rid of Prescott and as you (Stephen A. Smith) said, who is gonna be his quarterback?
“What’s he gonna do, draft one and wait five years? He is 82 years old; he is not gonna be around forever. Well, I mean you got to wait a couple of years, who you gonna draft to play the position. You get a rookie you got to give him a couple of years before you realize you can win.”
Ultimately, Mad Dog is convinced that Jones does not have the patience to wait and experiment with a rookie.
Trey Lance may become the second-string QB but has only started four games in his NFL career.
He will only get that position if he beats out Cooper Rush in preseason camp.
Russo’s logic is, that if Jones wants to win one now or in a couple of years, Prescott is his best hope.
