The Kansas City Chiefs are just hours away from making their first selection in the NFL Draft and the excitement could not be raised any more.
Over the last few weeks, the NFL world has been gifted an abundance of mock drafts to sink their teeth into.
All franchises’ needs and the rookies’ talent have been compiled into one place and that is a mock draft.
Every scenario has been considered and it is very hard to find two mock drafts that are the same.
Peter Schrager believes the Chiefs will trade up on the opening day
Peter Schrager has been on the phone for weeks with NFL general managers and coaches investigating what franchises are leaning toward.
Moreover, he has laid out his final prediction of how he expects the first day of the draft to fall.
Brett Veach claimed last Friday that he believes there to be only 16-18 players of first-round talent in the 2024 Draft class.
In addition, the Chiefs GM stated that he would consider a trade if the opportunity presented itself.
However, he said he would have to earn support from Andy Reid and Clark Hunt in the war room.

The Kansas City Chiefs switch positions with the Los Angeles Rams
Nonetheless, in Peter Schrager’s final mock draft, he does receive the support and executes a trade with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams hold the 19th spot in the draft but are willing to trade back their first-round selection.
Although, the Rams have not had a first-round pick in the league since 2016.
There has been a sense of relief in the franchise that they have an opening-round pick for the first time in eight years.
Yet, Schrager feels they could be open to trading and the Chiefs will move up to 19th.
With the 19th pick of the NFL Draft, the reporter thinks Veach will take offensive tackle Amarius Mims off the board.
The Georgia Bulldogs graduate will protect Patrick Mahomes’ blindside at left tackle.
Amarius Mims is compared to the Chiefs’ veteran tackle free agent
Coincidentally, Mims, per the NFL Combine report, is compared to the Chiefs’ current free agent Donovan Smith.
Smith started nine games for the Chiefs on a one-year deal and guided the franchise to a Super Bowl victory.
If the report is accurate, Kansas City could have found their perfect replacement if they traded up.
They would get a carbon copy player on a cheaper rookie deal – perfect!
