The Kansas City Chiefs are on the hunt for the historical ‘three-peat’ and their greatest quarterback will be leading the charge.

Patrick Mahomes has already earned minor features in the ‘G.O.A.T’ debate and is now trying to join the Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks.

Josh Allen has been battling it out with Mahomes for the last few seasons but has fallen short in the playoffs every time.

Lamar Jackson has won the same amount of MVP awards as the Chiefs quarterback but came up short in the 2023 AFC Championship.

Joe Burrow has got the better of Mahomes

Joe Burrow is the only player who has managed to get the better of Mahomes consistently.

The Cincinnati Bengals’ QB has won three ties whilst Mahomes has been victorious in just one.

On the head-to-head record, Joe Burrow has the edge over the 28-year-old.

In the 2021 AFC Championship, Burrow managed to secure his first-ever Super Bowl appearance in his sophomore season.

Mahomes and company fell short but won back-to-back Super Bowls the years after.

Is C.J. Stroud a threat to Mahomes?

Now there is another emerging talent in the form of C.J. Stroud.

The rookie had an exceptional first season winning NFL Rookie of the Year.

Additionally, Stroud won the AFC South and guided the Houston Texans to a playoff appearance.

However, they fell short to the number one-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round.

So, who is the next big threat to Patrick Mahomes for the top spot?

‘There is no rival’

On the First Things First podcast host Nick Wright swiftly shut down any conversation of that.

Wright said: “There are no challengers. Put all the quarterbacks together… they are still trailing Mahomes in everything but MVPs and Lamar is carrying the heavy load all by himself.”

Wright proclaimed: “There is no rival”.

All four quarterbacks will have to be exceptional to catch Mahomes and will need to be a part of dynasties.

Also, they will have to bank on Mahomes not winning any more accolades which there is no sign of.
