Speculation is in full swing over a shake-up for the Dallas Cowboys after a humiliating play-off loss.

Dallas became the first ever team to lost a play-off game to a ‘seven seed’, with Green Bay demolishing their defense.

It was a chastening loss for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who could not bear to look as the game unfolded.

Jones spoke of his utter shock after the game, and many are expecting a shake-up.

Could Bill Belichick replace Mike McCarthy

There are big name coaches available at present and they do not come much bigger than Bill Belicheck, after his exit from New England was confirmed last week.

At the time Cowboys fans speculated about a potential call to Belichick if the team lost to Green Bay, not actually believing it would happen.

Now after the humiliating home loss, angry Cowboys fans have been calling for Mike McCarthy to go.

Dez Bryant says hold fire on Belicheck

So could Bill Belichick be incoming in Dallas? Not so fast, according to former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant.

Bryant writes on X that he has been told Belicheck recently blocked a potential return to the Cowboys for Ezekiel Elliott.

He claimed: “It won’t happen especially after the news I got tonight. Zeke had an opportunity to come to Dallas for the playoff run and Belichick didn’t allow it.”

Many believe Belichick’s desire for total control would be a major clash with Jerry Jones, making a union fraught with difficulty.

But that won’t necessarily mean McCarthy’s job is safe. There are lots of other big coaches on the market, including Jim Harbaugh.

One man Bryant wants to leave is defensive co-ordinator Dan Quinn, after the Packers put up 48 points in Dallas.

He wrote: “Quinn was ready to leave Dallas. Fire his ass Jerry and give him his wish.”
