Fans on X are all saying the same thing about Bill Belichick and the Dallas Cowboys

It is the end of an era in New England, with the Patriots announcing they have respectfully parted ways with multiple-time Super Bowl winning head coach Bill Belichick.

But as one dynasty comes to an end, it is not necessarily the final chapter in Bill Belichick’s coaching career.

There are head coaching vacancies across the NFL after the regular season ended, and there might be a few opening up after the upcoming Wildcard Weekend.

Could one of those be in Dallas?

Mike McCarthy might not survive a first round exit

Dallas have a strong hand in the NFC and are the favourites to reach the Championship game, likely against top seed the 49ers.

The first opponents are the Green Bay Packers, Mike McCarthy’s former team. It is a game he cannot afford to lose.

With strong head coach options available, including Mike Vrabel and Jim Harbaugh, in addition to Bill Belicheck, could owner Jerry Jones be tempted to pull the trigger?

Any kind of play-off exit could be hazardous for McCarthy – but especially a miserable home play-off one on Wildcard Weekend.

Fans believe Belichick could be an option

There has been a lot of discussion on social media about Bill Belichick leaving New England, which while you could see it coming, has still sent shockwaves through the NFL.

The potential Cowboys role is one that some are tipping him for.

One social media user wrote: “Why do I have a feeling if the Cowboys go out early, Jerry calls him.”

Another said: “Cowboys should hire Bill Belicheck.”

One Cowboys fan wrote: “If Belicheck was smart he would sign to Dallas … the only Qb who could carry him like Brady is Dak.”

Another added: “Belicheck with Jerry’s checkbook is ideal.”

A further comment simply read: “Jerry. Please hire Bill Belicheck.”

One more fan speculated: “I think Jerry would do bad bad things to have Belicheck there.”

Lets see how this one plays out. The pressure is on Mike McCarthy to win this weekend.
