Weeks have passed since the Super Bowl LVIII final San Francisco 49ers players are still feeling the anguish of falling short.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs managed to resurrect themselves from a lackluster first-half performance and secure overtime.
After the 49ers were forced to settle for a field goal on the opening possession, Mecole Hardman found himself wide-open to receive a touchdown.
There was no dropped pass this time, which had hindered the Chiefs’ season repeatedly.

49ers heartbroken once again
A repeat of the 2019 Super Bowl final occurred and the Californian side was sent home empty-handed by the Chiefs.
Revenge was at the forefront of the 49ers’ minds, which made the loss even more painful.
San Fran star player, Deebo Samuel, shared his true thoughts when interviewed on the Up and Adams Show.
Kay Adams asked the dual-threat wide receiver what still plays in his head: “In the second half I pulled my hamstring and I’m like not right now bro, please not right now.
“We’re still able to go out there and try to help the team but you know we just fell short. They got the great Patrick Mahomes on the other side and he is capable of anything.
“Our defense was playing well all game long and it’s just Pat Mahomes being Pat Mahomes man.”
Samuel praised his team and highlighted that the three-time Super Bowl MVP was the key factor that turned the tie in the Chiefs’ favor.
‘Delayed not denied?’
The agonizing outcome meant the 49ers now had lost two Super Bowl finals in five years.
Samuel had an exasperated response to the unflattering statistic: “People just say ‘there’s always next year’ but I heard that in 2019 and it took four more years to get where we at.”
Fellow teammate, Kyle Juszczyk, also responded to the recent Super Bowl defeat last week on Instagram saying: “Delayed not denied.”
The fullback had a more half-glass-full approach and showed his mentality was still strong.
Undoubtedly, the multiple final losses will be a sucker punch for any player to take, and against the same team would rub salt in the wounds.
The Kansas City Chiefs would rejoice after winning successive rings and would have enjoyed one of the more pleasant hangovers in their lives.
