Patrick Mahomes has set the NFL scene on fire since he emerged from the 2017 NFL draft and has even got himself a space in the ‘G.O.A.T’ debate.

The 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has been worth his weight in gold and the Kansas City Chiefs did not expect that they had hit the jackpot to this extreme.

What makes his current feat so impressive? The rookie out of Texas Tech was not the first quarterback drafted in his class.

Mitchell Trubisky was selected as the second overall pick by the Chicago Bears.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is now a free agent and can only dream of achieving a fraction of what Mahomes has done.

In addition, the future three-time Super Bowl MVP sat behind Alex Smith in his first year – well worth the wait!

Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs’ playoff charge from deep in the Wildcard Round to Las Vegas.

The San Francisco 49ers were left heartbroken again by Chiefs Kingdom just like in 2019.

Mahomes earned his third Super Bowl ring and as many final MVP awards.

In 2018 and 2022, the 28-year-old secured regular season MVP accolades.

When Mahomes hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy above his head as the MVP, he joined an elusive club.

Patrick Mahomes joins legends

The generational talent out of Texas became only the third quarterback in NFL history to win 2 NFL MVP’s, 3 Super Bowls and 3 Super Bowl MVP’s.

Not only did he now have a membership in this prestigious club, but he became the youngest player by quite some distance.

Mahomes had the privilege of joining Hall of Famer Joe Montana and the greatest quarterback to play the game, Tom Brady.

Montana and Brady reached this feat at the age of 34 and 37 respectively.

The Kansas City quarterback reached this achievement at the age of 28.

Patrick Mahomes can catch Tom Brady

Mahomes is still in his athletic prime and has more years ahead of him at the top level.

Tom Brady currently resides on seven Super Bowl wins and Mahomes sits behind on three.

The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers passer won his last Super Bowl with the latter at 43 years old.

Does that mean Mahomes could still have 15 years to reach or exceed Brady?

An injury-free career would have to occur to stand a chance.
