The Dallas front office took a seat with the media for their pre–NFL Draft interview and it did not go smoothly.

Rightfully, all three key figures (Jerry, Stephen, and Mike McCarthy) were bombarded with questions.

The media questioned the ‘all in’ comments, and how the team is approaching key player contracts.

In addition, they were quizzed about the upcoming draft which the Cowboys are set to rely heavily upon.

As key starters have been allowed to walk in free agency, America’s Team must draft rookie starters to fill up the holes.

The 81-year-old admitted that the squad has had to dimmish due to the cap space problem.

Moreover, Jerry Jones took a little dig at Dak Prescott saying the signal-caller has had a strong supporting cast since 2016.

An interview set up to answer questions and provide clarity has done the opposite.

Cowboys Nation has picked up one comment made by Jerry Jones during the pre-draft routine presser.

Furthermore, Cowboys fans were perplexed when Jerry Jones stated that the Cowboys were the 24th-best team in the league.

Cowboys fans react on X to Jerry Jones’ big slip-up during interview

During the conference, Jones stated: “There’s a real reason why we’re 24th out of 32 teams drafting, we get to pick a player this time because we were the 24th best in the NFL.”

Straight away Cowboys fans picked up on this major slip-up by the owner.

For Dallas to pick 24th, it means the franchise was the 8th best in 2023.

The clip made the rounds on X and fans did not shy away from saying how they truly feel.

@nickgrantham4L exasperatingly posted: “We’re in for a long season boys.”

A faction of fans hinted that Jerry Jones must leave the Cowboys behind.

@_BradleyO stated: “Cowboys won’t have postseason success again until Jerry [Jones] is gone.”

On top of that, @AB77UNO claimed: “Just sell, Jones experienced early success. Hunger is gone.”

@SteveO34O8 Implied Jerry Jones is immune to criticism from some people: “Somehow this is the savior that absolutely cannot be criticized.”

The Cowboys front office has muddied the waters with their mixed messages

The current offseason has alienated many fans from the franchise after Jones’ repeated ‘all in’ comments have not met expectations.

Ultimately, the front office must pull off a drafting masterclass to prove their plan right and win fans over.

As of this moment, the media and fans are baffled trying to work out what the logic is behind the decisions.
