Jerry Jones has kept his wallet firmly in his pocket during free agency and has shown no intention of bringing back veteran Stephon Gilmore.
The Dallas Cowboys have Jourdan Lewis and DaRon Bland in their starting secondary.
In addition, there has been successful progression made by Trevon Diggs during his ACL recovery.
The Cowboys star defensive back tore his ACL before Week 3 during training and was forced to miss the season.
Diggs is set to return from an ACL tear but Gilmore remains a free agent
However, in a recent Diggs update, the 25-year-old is expected to return to offseason training in time for mid-July training camp.
Therefore, Diggs will have a whole training camp and preseason under his belt as he prepares for his comeback year.
Although there has been no movement from the Cowboys front office to bring back five-time Pro Bowler Stephon Gilmore.

Gilmore joined the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal via a trade from the Indianapolis Colts for a fifth-round compensatory pick in 2023.
He started in all 17 games of the season, including their lone playoff contest, and had a career-high tackles success.
The 33-year-old registered 68 combined tackles including 54 solo, still reaching personal record-breaking seasons in his veteran chapter.
Cowboys reporter gives an update on the Cowboys intention to bring back Gilmore
Dallas Morning News reporter Michael Gehlken, who specializes in the Cowboys, posted: “There is nothing imminent on a potential return for CB Stephon Gilmore, a person familiar with the situation said.”
Per Gehlken, Jerry Jones is not keen on reacquainting the franchise with Gilmore as he remains on the open market.
Moreover, the Cowboys have clarified they are searching for cheaper rookie alternatives for the roster and not expensive free agents.
Cowboys could miss out on Gilmore as he has been speaking to another team
Gilmore has been in talks with the Carolina Panthers and could return to his home state.
The Panthers Dan Morgan said they would return to talks with the veteran after the NFL Draft.
Furthermore, his high-school friend and teammate Jadeveon Clowney also encouraged Gilmore to come back to the Panthers.
The clock is ticking for the Cowboys if they do bring back Gilmore as he already has one suitor.
