The Dallas Cowboys have walked away from the Draft and now prepare for their upcoming offseason workouts.

America’s Team is closely monitoring their star cornerback Trevon Diggs and his rehabilitation progress.

Unfortunately, the Cowboys lost one of their cornerstone players on defense and their CB1.

In 2023, Diggs had come off an excellent in the Cowboys secondary registering a career-high 50 solo tackles, three interceptions, 14 pass deflections, and a fumble recovery.

His performances rewarded him with a bumper new five-year contract worthy up to $104 million with $97 million fully guaranteed.

Expectations were riding high for 2023 and he was dealt a hammer blow during the preparations for Week 3.

The 25-year-old suffered a brutal ACL tear during 1-on-1 drills and was ruled for the remainder of the season.

Diggs has been progressing with his rehabilitation behind the scenes and watching on would have known he could have had a significant impact on the season.

Especially seeing the defensive collapse by the Cowboys in their home playoff tie against the Green Bay Packers.

Moreover, with Stephon Gilmore hitting free agency and showing no imminent signs of returning, the Cowboys need Diggs more than ever to return healthy and productive.

In sports, the biggest worry after returning from a long-term injury is the impact on their performance.

After rewarding their star defensive back with a mega-deal, the Cowboys will want their value for money.

Cowboys reporter gives a timescale of when Diggs could return

Cowboys reporter Michael Gehlken took to X and shared a timescale on when Diggs looks to be back in training: “Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs is expected to be ready for training camp from his Sept. 21 ACL tear.”

Furthermore, fellow cornerback DaRon Bland was enthusiastic about his teammate’s return: “A lot of people are not expecting what Tre is going to come back with.

“I know what Tre is going to come back with. It’s going to be something dangerous. Can’t wait.”

Diggs will be desperate to take to the field once more and show the world what the Cowboys missed out on last season.

He will join Bland who excelled in his absence, setting a new record for most interceptions returned for touchdowns in a single season (5).
