The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for the NFL Draft but could they pivot away from their expected selections?
America’s Team has hosted their top-30 visits with their priority draft prospects.
Moreover, the visits are a key indicator to show who are the Cowboys’ potential choices.
Unsurprisingly, the Cowboys hosted multiple offensive linemen, defensive players, and running backs.
Cowboys set on adding talent to their offensive line
Jerry Jones stated that the run game on both sides of the ball was a key issue to address.
Therefore, with the 24th pick of the NFL Draft, it would be no surprise to see the franchise draft an O-lineman.

Center is the standout position that needs filling with their productive center Tyler Biadasz leaving for Washington.
However, a report from NFL Insider Adam Schefter has raised a few eyebrows among Cowboy Nation.
Cowboys are a ‘sleeper team’ to draft a quarterback
Dallas was described as a ‘sleeper team’ to draft a quarterback in late April.
The reason is, franchise QB Dak Prescott is entering the final year of his deal and there is uncertainty around his future.
Being a premium position, the most prolific quarterbacks in the draft will be snatched up in the first few picks.
Cowboys have no reason to trade up and have more important matters to cross off with their first pick.
Nick wright says it is ‘smart business’ to draft a QB
On the First Things First podcast, Nick Wright has suggested they could draft a QB later on: “I’ve read this (Schefter’s report) as, if Bo Nix, if Michael Penix Jr falls, maybe not to the Cowboys first-round pick.
“If one of those guys is available in the second round the Cowboys could take them.
“My response is, if you like the quarterback that’s smart business. When it comes to quarterback business the Cowboys have operated smartly.”
Drafting a potential successor to Prescott could show that they are serious about moving on.
It would be a statement saying to Dak, ‘Hey we are prepared to move on from you if you can’t deliver the success we want’.
Trey Lance’s future could be in serious doubt
However, where could this leave Trey Lance?
Jones sacrificed a fourth-round pick in 2023 for the young quarterback and he became the third-string signal-caller.
Drafting a successor to Prescott will show the Cowboys do not see Lance as an adequate starter.
The future for the 23-year-old at the Cowboys could be in serious doubt if they choose to draft a QB.
From the reports, it seems Dallas is focused on running backs and the offensive line.
Yet, we are being told to watch out for a potential drafting of a quarterback.
