Travis Kelce has been an active presence during the Kansas City Chiefs’ offseason with the summer break around the corner but his teammate has pointed out something unusual about him.

The Kansas City Chiefs are concluding the penultimate training day of their offseason program, with one day of mandatory minicamp scheduled.

Minicamp has provided the veterans with a chance to get back up to speed with their NFL training, as they prepare for the upcoming preseason.

Travis Kelce is losing count of the number of offseason programs with the Chiefs

For Travis Kelce, this will be his 14th offseason training window and he will be an experienced figure that the rookies look up to.

Moreover, despite this being like clockwork for the veteran tight end, he will understand that this is one of the most important camps in his career.

Kelce will be the first to admit that his 2023 campaign was one of the worst in nearly a decade, dropping under 1,000 yards receiving for the first time since 2015.

Age is creeping up with nine-time Pro Bowler and what he may lose in youthfulness he will make up for in hard work behind the scenes.

The Kansas City Chiefs made the legend the highest-paid tight end with a two-year pay rise on his remaining contract.

Travis Kelce could not put a time on his retirement and was praised by his teammate

When speaking about a potential retirement in the future, Kelce could not put a ‘timeframe’ on his career but was adamant that his workload should not alter, he wants the ‘wear and tear’.

Fellow teammate Drue Tranquill also took to the podium after the first of three days at mandatory minicamp.

The linebacker touched upon the mentality that the roster shares, especially the seven-time All-Pro tight end.

“There’s a championship culture here…it’s very apparent. Guys like Travis, going into his 12th year, and he loves to practice. That’s uncommon.”

Drue Tranquill was re-signed to a three-year extension after earning his first ring

Tranquill put pen to paper on a three-year deal in the offseason worth $19 million, he was a free-agent acquisition from the L.A. Chargers.

Furthermore, the defensive star implies that the championship culture is unwavering during the offseason.

The 28-year-old was rewarded with an extension because of his invaluable contributions to their Super Bowl LVIII run.

Tranquill is set to pick up his first ring with the Kansas City Chiefs at the ring ceremony which concludes their offseason chapter.
