Kansas City Chiefs key dates for the 2024 season, OTAs, preseason training, opening weekend, and divisional matchups

The Kansas City Chiefs have been handed the schedule that they must follow if they are to get their hands on their third Super Bowl in as many years.

Brett Veach, Andy Reid, and Patrick Mahomes have already made the statements and signings to show they are ‘all in’ to become history makers.

Now we know who the Chiefs are set to play, let’s look at the key dates in the 2024 season.

When do the next OTA’s start for the Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs have already participated in some OTAs before the NFL Draft. Furthermore, Patrick Mahomes was hosting a training camp in his home state of Texas.

The newly signed rookies, drafted and undrafted, will now take to the field with the veterans for the first time.

Their first OTA session is scheduled to take place from May 20-22. Additionally, another one follows the week after from May 28-30, with the final OTA diaried for June 4-7.

When does the mandatory minicamp start in the offseason?

The Kansas City Chiefs will be participating in their three-day mandatory minicamp from June 11-13. These are compulsory training camps in which everyone is expected to participate. No notable players are expected to be absent come June 11, unless there is a satisfactory reason.

When does the Chiefs’ preseason training camp begin?

The Chiefs’ official start date for their preseason training camp is July 23 and it runs until August 17. However, rookies are expected to report in on July 18 and the veterans do so one day before the official start date.

Their preseason camp is expected to be played at Missouri Western State University.

When does preseason start for the Kansas City Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars (August 10), the Detroit Lions (August 17), and the Chicago Bears (August 22). The clash against the Jaguars is on the road, while the next two games against the two NFC North franchises will be played at Arrowhead Stadium.

When is the Kansas City Chiefs’ opening game of the 2024 season?

Being the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs will be hosting the first game of the 2024 season at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City welcomes the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the 2023 AFC Championship. The clash will take place on September 5 at 7:20 under the lights.

When are the Chiefs scheduled to play their divisional rivals?

When are the 2024 NFL playoffs scheduled?

If the Kansas City Chiefs earn their spot in the NFL playoffs, which they have done so for the last nine seasons. The Wildcard round takes place between January 11-13. Next, the Divisional Round is set for January 18-19. After, the AFC Conference final is penned in for January 26th. Finally, Super Bowl LIX is February 9.
