Andy Reid makes his feelings clear on whether Kadarius Toney can have impact in 2024

Kansas City Chiefs players participated in their first day of OTAs as they slowly began the first stages of the 2024 season.

Most franchises in the NFL had their first scheduled offseason activities yesterday.

A chance for new signings like Marquise Brown and Louis Rees-Zammit to mingle with their new teammates.

However, the Chiefs have already been training together privately.

Fans have been seeing Patrick Mahomes slinging dimes to his new receiver Brown.

OTAs begin and Kadarius Toney is spotted working out

In addition, the OTAs are the starting point for previous players to get back to training and improving themselves for the next season.

One of the faces that was spotted last week on the Marquise Browns’ Instagram was receiver Kadarius Toney.

Toney had a very turbulent 2023 season which seems to have finished with paid suspension.

Moreover, after bobbling a pass in his hands which resulted in an interception, the Chiefs’ patience had worn thin.

Toney was placed on injured reserve despite claims he was not

Toney’s season was littered with countless errors and the Chiefs classified Toney as injured for weeks 16,17 and 18.

He would stay on the injured reserve for the remainder of the season, including Super Bowl LVIII.

The receiver would earn his second ring but later claimed that he was not injured.

Mike Florio suspected this was the case and deemed Toney to have ‘no future’ in the state of Missouri.

Yet, Toney has been spotted training with fellow teammates and was present for the opening day offseason activities.

Andy Reid says Toney is ‘one of the most talented guys’

Head coach Andy Reid was questioned about the expectations and plan for Toney.

During his interview, Reid stated: “He’s [Toney] arguably one of the most talented guys we have on the team.

It’s just a matter of him being able to stay healthy and stay on the field. It’s great that he’s down there working with Pat [Mahomes] and putting the work in.”

Toney must eliminate errors to become a key player in 2024

Big Red is very impressed with Toney’s attitude and is excited about his 2024 season.

Ultimately, Toney has the natural talent that Reid can see and hopes to get the best out of him.

After a calamitous season, the Alabama native will need to eliminate the careless mistakes if he is to play a massive role in the ‘three-peat’ season.
