Hollywood Brown reacts to the possibility of having his former teammate join the Chiefs

The outlook for not only the fans but also the Kansas City squad looks set to take a welcome turn for the better.

Despite losing L’Jarius Sneed to an AFC rival, the Kansas City Chiefs are living the best of lives.

The departure of the linebacker freed up a lot of cap space and now KC is 100 per cent focused on the three-peat. A franchise that knows how to play the game – both on and off the field. Financially, to be more specific.

Crucial renewals and major new reinforcements make the Chiefs rank as one of the teams doing best in free-agency so far.

And the trend is for things to keep getting better. With three weeks left until the Draft, the team must be sure of who their choices will be. Offensive and defensive tackle, safety, wide receiver and running back should be the organisation’s priorities.

But that doesn’t mean they’re done with free agency.

A potential new member of KC’s offense

On Tuesday, ESPN insider Adam Schefter broke the news that there’s a free-agent running back scouting Kansas City: former Baltimore Ravens J.K. Dobbins.

According to the journalist, he was visiting the team and “is expected to have a home very soon”.

The RB tore his Achilles in the opening game of last season and hasn’t played since. It wasn’t the first time Dobbins spent an entire season injured: in 2021, he tore his ACL in a preseason game and missed the whole year.

Before entering the NFL, he had a lot of expectation on his back. That’s because he became the first Ohio State running back to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season.

During his rookie year, Dobbins did well. In 15 games and one as a starter, he scored nine touchdowns and ran 134 times for 805 yards.

The confident reaction of the Chiefs’ newcomer

Hollywood Brown has barely arrived in KC and is already feeling at home – rightly so.

The new receiver is dreaming of the idea of rejoining his former teammate. After news spread that Dobbins was in the Chiefs’ building, the WR used his X account to show his optimism.

Brown has relied on the same strategy that coach Andy Reid applied when he first contacted him.

Dobbins’ injury history could be a matter of worry if the franchise makes a move to sign him.

The problem, in fact, is not the WR’s performance when he’s healthy, but whether or not he can stay clear of injuries.

In 2022, in his second full season, he took part in only 8 games and recorded 92 rushes for 520 yards, 2 rushing and one receiving touchdown.
