Tom Pellisero explains the message Jerry Jones’ actions are taking over the Dallas Cowboys future

The Dallas Cowboys are looking at the possibility of ripping up their entire blueprint after the conclusion of the 2024 season with numerous players and key figureheads approaching their contract years.

Jerry Jones has seemingly decided to make a stand in 2024 and is sick of his franchise’s lack of success in the postseason.

In the last three years, the Dallas Cowboys have been one of the most successful regular-season teams.

Dallas has boasted some of the best regular-season campaigns of any NFL team

They have won 12 games in the last three seasons and posted an undefeated record at home in 2023.

It sounds bizarre that this success has meant the Cowboys will let their quarterback, head coach, and other key figures head into contract years.

However, it is the poor postseason showing that has forced Jerry Jones to show his hand and say that enough is enough.

Many franchises would be desperate to have a taste of the Cowboys’ recent success but expectations are sky-high with the most popular franchise in America.

In addition, America’s Team is the most expensive sports team in the world. Therefore, one trip to an NFC Championship in 29 years is an appalling return.

Tom Pelissero says Jerry Jones is happy to ‘reboot’ the franchise in 2025

Tom Pellisero spoke about the Cowboys’ hesitancy to execute new deals with their key starters on the Rich Eisen Show.

“Jerry, whether it is his intention or not, the message sent by the actions is, ‘We are in a decision type of year. If we are gonna have to reboot the entire thing, then we will reboot the entire thing,” the NFL Insider said to Rich Eisen.

“It just feels like Jerry doesn’t want to put any money out the door here. He’s keeping all options on table.”

Cowboys Nation could expect a turnover of staff after numerous deals expire in 2025

Tom Pellisero suggested that there is a realistic chance that the Cowboys could enter the NFL season with Prescott on a contract year.

The longer Jerry Jones waits the more chance the price that Prescott will be holding out for will drive up.

Ultimately, Cowboy Nation could look at an entire rebuild in 2025 with a new coaching staff and a quarterback if the franchise does not deliver what Jones craves.
