The Dallas Cowboys are involved in the biggest offseason drama of any franchise and it constantly takes new angles every day.
Skip Bayless has targeted one of the most valuable assets on the Cowboys roster and it is not for the first time.
America’s Team is dealing with the financial implications of Dak Prescott’s enormous cap hit ($55 million).
The 30-year-old has swallowed up 20% of the cap space before the season has begun.
Therefore, there have been little to no free-agent acquisitions bar Eric Kendricks.
Skip Bayless only trusts Lamb
Skip Bayless does not shy away from voicing his opinion about his beloved Cowboys.
The Undisputed host has stated that he can only trust one player on the roster: “We got one guy on this team who can flat-out play.
“One guy I trust and it’s 88 (CeeDee Lamb).”

CeeDee Lamb produced his best season in a Cowboys jersey in 2023, leading the league in receptions (135) and the franchise in receiving touchdowns (12).
Bayless says he is the one player who is trustworthy but has also called out at another in the process.
Fellow host Keyshawn Johnson questioned why Micah Parsons was not included: “So Micah can’t play now.”
‘He doesn’t show up’
As a result, this prompted Bayless to pick a bone with the Cowboys linebacker: “I have yet to see Micah come up big in a really big game.
“When the Cowboys are winning and front running, Micah has had some big games, he’s had some big sack games against inferior opponents.
“But seriously, every big game, every playoff-type game, such as the Green Bay game at home. He doesn’t show up for those games, sure you have to pay him, but you’re like, is he that guy?”
Bayless was not convinced that the 24-year-old was reliable enough to perform when it truly mattered.
However, Parsons is still a novice in the NFL and is an All-Pro level talent every season.
Parsons is looking to be paid
The linebacker still has room for growth and the Cowboy picked up his fifth year on his rookie deal.
Parsons is on the path to becoming a Hall of Famer and will need to be paid accordingly.
Moreover, the linebacker will be hunting down a new contract very soon and the Cowboys will need to have the financial space.
The Dallas front office has made it very clear they want to pay Prescott, Lamb, and Parsons.
Ultimately, the trinity of homegrown talent is hunting big contracts.
