Since his accession into the NFL, CeeDee Lamb has become one of, if not the best, wide receiver in the business.

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver’s talent was evident throughout his college career at Oklahoma University.

Ceedee Lamb’s strongest attributes were making explosive plays downfield with his strength and speed. Sporting exceptional pace made him an excellent punt returner, alongside his wide receiver responsibilities.

Lamb’s college career

Ceedee Lamb was born in Opelousas in Louisiana. Later he moved to Texas, where he played for Randolph Foster High School, going onto play college ball for Oklahoma University.

During his time at Oklahoma, Lamb was able to produce special numbers. He was privileged to play with various quarterbacks who have managed to cement themselves into the NFL as well.

In his freshman year, Baker Mayfield, now of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was the player throwing dimes into Lamb’s hands.

Lamb tied the touchdown season record for a true freshman with seven scores. Against Texas Tech, the freshman set the school’s single-games record as he gathered nine receptions and tied the record of producing two touchdowns.

Kyler Murray, now of the Arizona Cardinals, became Lamb’s starting quarterback in 2018 and just like Mayfield, he would also go on to win the Heisman Trophy. The two guided the university to a 12-2 season as they secured a playoff appearance. The future Cowboy would lead the team in receptions and receiving yards during his sophomore year.

From friends to foe

After Murray parted for the NFL Draft, Lamb was blessed with further NFL calibre talent as dual-threat signal caller, Jalen Hurts, started his college career.

The future NFC East division rivals complemented each other, which led to Lamb earning the selection of 2019 First-Team All-American.

Averaging 21.4 yards per catch of players with a minimum of 50 receptions, this was the most of any player in Oklahoma history.

Despite having another season in college as a senior, Lamb opted to enter the 2020 NFL Draft. Unsurprisingly, the star’s maturity and talent meant he was ready for the world stage.

This proved a wise decision to not stay within the limits of college football, since the Dallas Cowboys selected the rookie in the first round, he has been a shining light ever since.
