Patrick Mahomes is a master of his craft in American Football but has always been a sporting freak from a young age.
The three-time Super Bowl winner currently sits just below Tom Brady as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time but has only just entered his prime.
Mahomes is one of the most naturally gifted athletes in the sport despite not possessing the ‘usual’ body type.
Moreover, the Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller has joked about his ‘dad-bod’ before but that has not hindered his production on the field.
Patrick Mahomes excels in baseball and was selected in the MLB Draft
The 28-year-old played American Football, basketball, and baseball in high school.
Despite his main focus being football, he believed that playing the other two sports helped him improve in the quarterback position.
Furthermore, his baseball ability was so good that he qualified for the 2014 MLB Draft. Mahomes was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 37th round, but he refused to sign a contract.

Instead, the future NFL star wanted to pursue a career in the NFL and focused on his journey at Texas Tech.
After three years in college, the Chiefs traded up in the 2017 NFL Draft and chose Mahomes with the 10th overall pick.
The rest is history.
RGIII posts high school basketball highlights of Mahomes and he responds
Yesterday on X, Robert Griffin III posted highlights of Patrick Mahomes dominating in high school basketball.
Mahomes was quick to see the video making the rounds on social media and had a jokey response.
“I promise I was hoopin!!! They didn’t have to put the charge on the highlights tho,” Mahomes tweeted on X.
Mahomes choose to pursue football and now can become the greatest of all time
The once basketball and baseball prospect could have pursued numerous sporting career paths as his various talents would have allowed him to.
Ultimately, if it were not for his determination to play in the NFL, then Mahomes could have been pitching balls in Major League Baseball as I type.
Gratefully, we now have one of the greatest talents in sporting history on our hands, and he is on the journey to becoming the best of all time in football.
