The NFL offseason is full of contract breakdowns and the Chiefs quarterback is set to receive the highest bonus in one clause.

In the NFL, teams begin their voluntary training camps before the mandatory workouts start.

Patrick Mahomes agreed to a deal restructure with the Chiefs front office in September 2023.

Moreover, this renegotiation will give him $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026.

This is the most amount of money any player had been due to receive over a four-season period in NFL history.

Mahomes agrees to another contract restructure

The 29-year-old has just come off a legendary feat of winning successive rings – being MVP for both.

Furthermore, he restructured his deal in March to open up further cap space for the franchise.

He has already been spotted working out with fellow teammates which is a testament to his mentality.

Newly acquired free agent Marquise Brown had been working out with the two-time MVP.

NFL contracts are broken down into many sections, with guaranteed salaries and signing bonuses making up large chunks.

Furthermore, to trigger the maximum value of a said player’s contract, they must meet the incentives criteria.

Mahomes biggest workout bonus earner

One of the minor triggers in a contract is the workout bonuses.

Simply, players can earn lucrative money by just turning up to their scheduled workout programs.

They can generate money by simply doing their job.

Mahomes is set to have the joint-biggest workout bonus in his contract for the 2024 season.

The Chiefs quarterback is set to receive $1 million if he meets the criteria.

Mahomes and Kyler Murray set to earn the most from workouts

He shares top spot with the Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray who will earn the same.

The next highest earners are Kenny Clark and Rashan Gary ($700,000).

Additionally, the Green Bay Packers new running back Josh Jacobs wraps up the top five earners with $600,000 on the table.

As Mahomes has shown he has already started his training. It would seem the three-time Super Bowl winner will have no problem securing the $1 million offered.
