It is well known that Mike McCarthy is entering an all-or-nothing year for himself and his coaching staff.
After the defeat at home to the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs, many assumed he would be fired there and then.
However, Jerry Jones shocked many people and decided to stick by the 60-year-old.

McCarthy knows a ring is a must
Now, McCarthy has just one year left on his contract and anything but a ring will most likely see him clear out his desk.
Head coaches on the hot seat were a topic of discussion today on Pro Football Talk.
Three NFC East coaches made it into Chris Simms’ top six head coaches under pressure.
Alongside McCarthy is Nick Sirianni of the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants’ Brian Daboll.
But according to the experts, where did McCarthy rank compared to his NFC East counterparts?
Florio puts Sirianni under the microscope
The founder of Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio awarded Sirianni the top spot.
He stated McCarthy was a close second: “I’m wrestling with Mike McCarthy and Nick Sirianni.
“I think with McCarthy, it is almost to the point where it’s so obvious the pressure reduces. So, I’m gonna go Sirianni because I don’t think it’s widely accepted and kinda known that he is on the hot seat.”
Chris Simms categorically put McCarthy second behind Robert Saleh.
He referred to the public pressure the Dallas HC faces: “It’s so in our face, it’s such a talking point, there’s such a part of the fan base that wants him gone. You hear people on TV, ‘I’ll get rid of all of them and do all of that’.
“It’s almost so glaring and in your face that I’m sure he is numb to it, maybe?”
McCarthy could be replaced by Belichick
Therefore, it is without question that McCarthy is under the most pressure in the NFC East.
Simms even referred to Bill Belichick waiting for another job will turn up the heat.
Florio mentioned Daboll will be sweating this season if they produce another underwhelming year.
The situation with Daniel Jones speaks volumes and the Giants may want to steal Belichick to avoid the Cowboys doing so.
Jerry Jones speaks his mind and has made it abundantly clear that McCarthy is gone if a playoff collapse occurs.
Ultimately, the Super Bowl XLV winner is publicly on the biggest hot seat in the league.
Nevertheless, his NFC East equals are treading on thin ice as well.
