The Kansas City Chiefs will begin their three-peat campaign against their AFC rival the Baltimore Ravens in their Week 1 showdown and one expert sends a warning to the Ravens camp.

Two weeks ago the NFL schedules were released and the Kansas City Chiefs were handed their roadmap in 2024.

However, it was already made public that the Chiefs were scheduled to host the Baltimore Ravens to kick off the season.

Chiefs will host the season opener due to being the Super Bowl winners

Courtesy of a two-decade tradition, the Super Bowl winners were always set to open the season account at Arrowhead Stadium under the lights.

Moreover, this is because the NFL wants to shine the spotlight on the novelty event of unveiling the Super Bowl banner.

The Ravens will have salt poured into their wounds with the Chiefs’ new banner

The Ravens were dealt a gut-wrenching blow in January by the Chiefs, as they were denied a maiden Super Bowl appearance with Lamar Jackson.

Furthermore, the Ravens had earned home-field advantage in the AFC Championship clash being the number-one seed.

Additionally, Jackson had entered the playoffs as the MVP (the second of his career) and was eyeing up the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance since 2012.

However, the franchise will now have to watch on as the Chiefs parade their new Super Bowl banner on September 5, knowing it could have been them.

Patrick Mahomes boats a dominant record over the AFC juggernaut (4-1) and the Ravens cannot seem to find the winning formula.

NFL expert spells out a clear warning to the Ravens if they fail to win at Arrowhead

NFL expert Craig Carton sent a clear message of warning to the Baltimore Ravens about the narrative they will create if they cannot emerge victorious in Week 1.

“I don’t care how you lose… if they (Ravens) lose the game the narrative is going to be, ‘You don’t have to worry about the Ravens they can’t beat Kansas City’,” he said via The Carton Show.

Carton hints that the Ravens’ reputation will suffer and their true status as a serious contender could diminish with a loss.

Lamar Jackson downplays the clash against the Chiefs in a recent interview

Recently, Lamar Jackson spoke about the game and understandably downplayed the situation. The three-time Pro Bowler brushed the magnitude of the game off and claimed it is just another matchup.

The Chiefs will be eager to start their season with a bang and have a repeat of their AFC Championship clash.

Nonetheless, there will be fireworks in the Week 1 showdown as there was tension in the pre-match warmup between Travis Kelce and kicker Justin Tucker.
