Micah Parson is one the biggest nightmares for NFL quarterbacks. But his future remains unclear.

A report emerged that Micah Parsons had ‘worn thin’ with some of the staff within the Dallas Cowboys.

The defensive superstar is set to enter his fourth year on his rookie deal and has already signed a fifth-year extension.

Moreover, Parsons is now eligible to receive his first unrestricted contract in the NFL.

Micah Parsons could be set to become the most expensive defender in the NFL

Some people have talked about the 24-year-old becoming the highest-paid defender of all time.

America’s Team is juggling the big contracts of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons.

All three are expecting top-of-the-market deals and this has financially handicapped Jerry Jones.

Cowherd suggests Parsons’ big deal will not win the Super Bowl

Colin Cowherd has suggested that they could consider trading Micah Parsons based on the best ways to win Super Bowls in the modern era.

On The Herd podcast, he suggested: “You get two 1s for Micah Parsons. If somebody gave me two firsts for Micah Parsons, I mean you better start hitting on draft picks as you’re gonna have to pay CeeDee Lamb and Dak [Prescott] a fortune.

“I’m not saying you have to move him, he’s an edge rush, but I’ve watched people in the NFL fall in love with non-quarterbacks. It’s not winning you Super Bowls.

“You win Super Bowls two ways in this league, with a top-six quarterback or a quarterback on a rookie deal where you can load the franchise up. Highest highest-paid receiver, highest-paid edge rusher, does not win Super Bowls. “

Cowherd suggests Parsons becoming the highest-paid defender will not help Jerry Jones’ dream of another ring.

Top six QB or rookie contracts are the best ways to win rings

Furthermore, he suggests Prescott is not a top-six QB in the NFL so it is pointless to pay Parsons big.

Additionally, the host believes having a cheap rookie deal and loading the roster with star talent is the other option.

Cowboys legend Daryl Johnston has also explained how the rookie QB deal is the best way to win a ring in the modern era.

Could this further fuel the Cowboys’ need to draft a signal-caller in the upcoming draft?

Cowherd lists the best edge rushers T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, and explains how they are not competing for Super Bowls.

If the Cowboys do want to keep Parsons on a lucrative deal, then it is suggested they need a rookie QB deal.
