Micah Parsons tears into NFL media while blasting Dak Prescott critics

Micah Parsons recently teared into the NFL’s wider media, claiming there’s a double standard when it comes to the Cowboys. He also came to the defence of Dak Prescott who he thinks is unfairly criticised.

The Dallas Cowboys are an easy target and often come under unfair criticism from the wider NFL world.

In the 42-10 Week 5 loss to the 49ers, Cowboys QB had one of the poorest games of his career. However, against the Chargers in the Monday Night Football game, both he and team bounced back.

Dak finished with 272 passing yards and a 109.3 rating, throwing for one touchdown and rushing for a second score as the Cowboys came away with a 20-17 win.

Micah Parsons claps back at Dak Prescott critics

Despite the victory, linebacker Micah Parsons has seemingly had enough of the NFL media, and specifically their treatment of Dak and the perceived double standard.

Parsons thinks the Cowboys are treated more harshly than their rivals, comparing the reaction to the Eagles losing against the Jets last weekend to whenever Dallas drops a game.

“I just don’t condone the bashing of Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and have the same energy for the Eagles,” Parsons said on his “The Edge” podcast Tuesday. “We want the same energy for everybody. Because there’s a whole bunch of bashing when it’s Dak Prescott, but not the same when it’s the Eagles.”

“I’m tired of people trashing my quarterback, I’m tired of people trashing my team and that’s why I had nothing to say to the media this week,” he went on, referencing him skipping media duties after Monday night’s win.

Parsons wants to see the same energy for the Cowboys’ rivals

Parsons then specifically called out Fox’s Emmanuel Acho who essentially gave a pass to the 49ers losing to the Browns in Week 6. Acho let the 49ers off lightly, blaming the defeat on injuries to Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel.

Parsons wants that same energy for the Cowboys.

“The Browns were missing Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb. They were missing [those] key factors before the game even started. So why is it that we are just scrubs and we’re nobodies that don’t deserve to be on the field, and we’re just all talk, but there are 100 excuses for these other teams?

“If y’all just gonna hate Cowboys Nation, just say y’all hate Cowboys Nation,” Parsons added.

The Cowboys are now 4-2 for the season after the win against the Chargers. It puts them right on the tails of the Eagles in the NFC East heading into the bye week.

Things are certainly looking a lotter better than they did a week ago. As Parsons noted, “there’s a lot of football left to be played, and anything can happen moving forward.”
