Micah Parsons doubles down on reaction to ‘media bullies’ who overly criticize Cowboys

Dallas edge rusher Micah Parsons has doubled down on his comments that ‘media bullies’ love nothing more than to bash the Cowboys.

Micah Parsons is never one to mince his words.

The All-Pro linebacker recently aired what many of us have known for an awfully long time: that the Cowboys are unfairly scrutinized and held to a ridiculous double standard when compared to other teams in the NFL.

It makes sense though; Dallas are America’s Team and are one of the most polarizing franchises in sports. Fans love to hate on the team, especially when they’re not doing well, which the media laps up because it generates clicks.

Micah Parsons recently teared into the NFL’s media

Micah Parsons has seemingly had enough, and recently fired back at the NFL’s media for their treatment of the team and Dak Prescott.

Parsons words came after Dallas were panned for their 42-10 loss to the 49ers in Week 5. However, when the much-fancied Eagles and Niners lost the following week, the media was silent.

“I just don’t condone the bashing of Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and have the same energy for the Eagles,” Parsons said on his “The Edge” podcast. “We want the same energy for everybody. Because there’s a whole bunch of bashing when it’s Dak Prescott, but not the same when it’s the Eagles.”

He went on: “Why is it that we are just scrubs and we’re nobodies that don’t deserve to be on the field, and we’re just all talk, but there’s 100 excuses for these other teams. If y’all just going to hate Cowboys Nation, just say y’all hate Cowboys Nation. But don’t sit here and throw shade on us. Keep the same energy for everybody.”

Parsons doubles down on reaction to ‘media bullies’

Parsons doubled down on his comments this week, saying he stands by the belief Dallas receives more criticism than any other team.

The edge rusher labelled the media as ‘bullies’ for their treatment of the Cowboys.

“People think I’m shying from criticism,” Parsons said. “No. Criticism is not the problem. Just criticize everyone with the same energy. They’re just as big a bullies as these other guys. People decide who wants to give breaks to. I wasn’t raised like that. I treat everybody the same. I talk about everybody the same, give everyone the same benefit of the doubt. That’s the type of real person that I stand on. A lot of these dudes ain’t real.”

The Cowboys answered their critics somewhat with a victory in the “must-win” Week 6 game against the Chargers.

After having their bye, they return to host the Rams this weekend before a huge game in Philadelphia against the 6-1 Eagles on Nov. 5.
