Cowboys star roasts Joy Taylor over bizarre Dak Prescott take during Eagles segment

Cowboys fans, as well as safety Juanyeh Thomas, have fired back at FS1’s Joy Taylor after her rather bizarre Dak Prescott take in the middle of an Eagles segment.

Micah Parsons recently made headlines by firing back at the NFL media for their treatment of Dak Prescott and the double standard when it comes to the Cowboys.

“I just don’t condone the bashing of Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and have the same energy for the Eagles,” Parsons said on his “The Edge” podcast. “We want the same energy for everybody. Because there’s a whole bunch of bashing when it’s Dak Prescott, but not the same when it’s the Eagles.”

“I’m tired of people trashing my quarterback, I’m tired of people trashing my team.”

Barely even a week on from those comments and FOX Sports analyst Joy Taylor has once again proved Parsons’ theory to be true.

Joy Taylor goes on random Dak Prescott tangent during Eagles segement

On Tuesday (24 October), Emmanuel Acho, LeSean McCoy, Joy Taylor, and David Helman appeared on FS1’s Speak. During one particular segment, they discussed the Philadelphia Eagles and specifically, Jalen Hurts’ turnover issues.

However, for reasons still unknown, Taylor used the segment as an opportunity to bash Dak, despite the Dallas QB having absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

She started out by saying she wasn’t concerned about Hurts, before randomly turning her attention to Prescott.

“You don’t want to talk about Dak so I’ll talk about Dak for you,” she said to McCoy.

Comparing the two quarterbacks, she said, “I think Jalen Hurts is more clutch, I think he’s a better quarterback overall, and I think he finds ways to win games.”

“I don’t necessarily put Dak all the way in that space because I haven’t seen him do it yet,” she went on. She added that she also hasn’t seen Dak get to an NFC Championship Game, or a Super Bowl, before rattling off some of Hurts’ career accomplishments.

Juanyeh Thomas and Cowboys fans roast Joy Taylor over her bizarre Dak comments

It wasn’t long before Cowboys fans weighed in on the segment. It’s fair to say the general reaction was one of confusion as to why Dak even came up during the conversation.

‘Why was Dak even brought into this conversation?’ one person commented.

‘How did Dak end up in this sentence’, another asked.

‘Dak was 6-3 in games he threw picks last year,’ someone else remarked. ‘Jalen Hurts won an NFCCG throwing for 120 yards and had a 1yd td run. He didn’t WIN that game. Man you are hanging on by a thread with this. Segment had nothing to do with Dak yet here’s his name like always.’

The clip circulated across social media and even made its way to Cowboys safety Juanyeh Thomas.

Thomas retweeted the clip with the caption: ‘An old saying back in the day was if you portray to not like somebody but steady talks about him that means you…… Nvm [crying laughter emoji] Goodnight yall…’

It’s not the first time Taylor has been criticised for her awful Dak takes

It isn’t the first time Taylor has caught serious heat for her Cowboys – and specifically Dak Prescott – takes.

Following Dallas’ Divisional Round loss to the 49ers in January, Taylor discussed whether it’s a make or break season for Dak.

Taylor said that she needs to see a miracle from Dak Prescott this season and that “Dak isn’t talented enough to get to an NFC Championship game.”

Fans were quick to pan Taylor’s comments, pointing out that many lesser-talented QBs that have recently made the NFC title game because of better teams around them.

They also pointed out that other top QBs such as Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, and Justin Herbert haven’t got that far in the playoffs either but don’t face the same level of scrutiny as Dak.

Ultimately Dak and the Cowboys are an easy target as they generate more headlines than virtually any other team in the NFL.

Still, it’s disappointing when the criticism is this forced.
