The Dallas Cowboys have made limited movements in the offseason so far and the wide receiver core needs addressing.
One of the decisions the Cowboys front office has made is to cut Michael Gallup from the roster.
He follows the many exoduses of players who have landed in free agency.
America’s Team is looking at a massive rebuild this offseason.
Gallup cut to help the cap space
Gallup hits free agency and has freed up $9.5 million on the cap but only after his post-June 1st cut.
The 2018 draft pick was recruited out of Colorado State in the third round.
Moreover, his breakout season came in his sophomore year when he broke the 1,000-yard receiving barrier.

Unfortunately, the 28-year-old never managed to kick on and become that all-star wide receiver the franchise had hoped.
So, Jerry Jones decided to close the chapter on Gallup.
Therefore, there now needs to be a wide receiver addition.
Multiple receivers have been poached off the market such as Mike Williams, Darnell Mooney, Marquise Brown, and more.
However, there is one name that is still floating about after being released by the Baltimore Ravens.
Odell Beckham Jr. knows his fate and will be cut the following cap season by the Ravens.
Odell Beckham to the Cowboys claim
Former wide receiver, Keyshawn Johnson of Undisputed, claimed the Cowboys could be a good fit for OBJ.
His future destination has become a hot topic after reports emerged that OBJ will be visiting the Miami Dolphins.
Keyshawn alluded to the fact the 31-year-old will be WR3 behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
The analyst mentioned how he felt the Cowboys would be a potential suitor for Beckham: “I like the Dallas Cowboys in this situation for him Skip.
“They visited him a couple of years ago but he wasn’t able to play, maybe they revisit him again after they got rid of Michael Gallup. Maybe he wants a little bit less than the $15 million, maybe we can pick him up for a little bit more of a veteran minimum type situation.”
Cowboys would need to pay big for Beckham
Ultimately, OBJ is looking for a handsome contract after earning $15 million with the Ravens.
Now, Mike Williams has just signed a deal of that value with the New York Jets – another suggested landing spot for OBJ.
However, Dallas has shown they are not getting their checkbook out with speed in the offseason.
Stephen Jones has said they are focused on tying Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb to new deals.
With the wide receivers class being stacked at this year’s draft, the Jones family will most likely look in that direction.
