Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has been at the center of attention during the last week after his graduation speech went viral.
The Kansas City Chiefs kicker has dominated the press after his controversial comments about women were spread at a graduation ceremony.
Last week, Harrison Butker took to the stage at Benedictine College and shared his thoughts about women pursuing careers.

Moreover, his speech sparked a vicious response across social media, and numerous female figures have hit back at his suggestions.
Additionally, the Chiefs started and concluded their first batch of post-NFL Draft OTAs and Butker was present for those.
Patrick Mahomes was asked about the comments made by his teammate and what his thoughts were.
“I’ve known him for seven years. I judge him by the character he shows every single day, and that’s a good person,” the Chiefs quarterback said via the media.
Andy Reid is asked to share his thoughts about his kicker’s comments
Furthermore, head coach Andy Reid was also asked to share his opinion on the controversial matter.
“I didn’t talk to him about [the speech]. We’re a microcosm of life here, from different areas, different religions, races and so we all get along and we all respect each other’s opinions. We respect everybody to have a voice, that’s the great thing about America.”

In PR fashion, Andy Reid quickly tip-toed around the question and believed everyone in America needs to ‘respect’ his kicker’s opinion.
Despite the backlash the three-time Super Bowl winner received, many people have come out and voiced their support.
Fans have claimed that Butker is protected through the freedom of speech
Understandably, many people have claimed that this is Butker exercising his First Amendment right and his comments are protected by it.
The controversy comes at a delicate time for the franchise, as they still await the legal outcome of Rashee Rice’s street racing incident.
Nonetheless, Butker’s comments, agree or disagree, are within his right to make, despite a petition, which has reached nearly 150,000 strong, being created by Willard Harris to cut the Chiefs kicker.
KC Mayor confirms they have fired an employee after a tweet was posted about Butker
Kansas City Mayor, Quinton Lucas, spoke about how they have been forced to terminate an employee due to their tweet on social media.
The employee in question posted a description of where Butker’s home address is located.
Yesterday, on local radio station 95.7FM, the KC Mayor confirmed the dismissal and they are ‘looking forward to moving on’.
Butker has been one of the best NFL kickers in the league and holds the record for the longest field goal in Super Bowl history. In their recent Super Bowl success, the Chiefs special teamer nailed the 57-yard attempt through the posts.
Additionally, the Chiefs star is out of contract in 2025 and looks set to become the highest-paid kicker on an extension.
