Contract talks are in full flow across all the franchises in the NFL offseason and the reigning Super Bowl champions are no exception.
Chris Jones and L’Jarius Sneed are some of the top priorities on the offseason agenda.
Multiple contract talks
Defensive tackle, Chris Jones, has been part of the furniture at the Kansas City Chiefs since 2016 and has been a fundamental cornerstone which has reenergized the franchise.
However, another member of the defensive line is also sniffing around for a new contract.
Charles Omenihu stated on NFL Network Monday that he believed to be deserving of a new contract.
Nonetheless, the certain priority for the Chiefs executives and high-ranking coaching staff is, do they offer Jones a new contract?

Many journalists and pundits alike have expressed their thrill to witness the five-time Pro Bowler see out the rest of his career with the Chiefs.
In the minds of all NFL fans, Jones is already a Chiefs Kingdom legend and a guaranteed future Hall of Famer.
After fellow teammate Omenihu stated his case for a new contract on NFL Network Monday, Peter Schrager questioned him about Jones’ situation.
The 2019 NFL Draft pick for the Houston Texans was certain he should get the ‘bag’: “100%, I’m vouching for Chris [Jones] man.
“Chris was a hell of a leader first and foremost and just throughout the season, his relentlessness, his leadership, his run play, his effort, those things you don’t see in the stat sheet, he really showed up.
“I’ve told him and told the guys I’ve played with [he’s] top of the line defensive lineman, I mean every week the staff are looking at him like you’re going to make a play that will change the game.”
A leader of men
Omenihu was drafted by the Texans in 2019 and after two seasons moved to the San Francisco 49ers.
Therefore, he has had the privilege of lining up alongside defensive craftsmen Nick Bosa and a now-retired J.J. Watt – who are both elite-tier playmakers.
During the interview Omenihu put Jones in the same category as these players: “He is up there with J.J. and Bosa, two other guys I’ve played with.
“I hope everything works out and that he is a Chief for the rest of his career because playing with him I just fed off him so much.”
When seeing what fellow teammates say about Chris Jones, he is a leader within the dressing room and a would be nearly irreplaceable if he was to walk.
The franchise now has to make a big decision regarding Jones, does he hit free agency or retire a Chiefs legend?
