With many of the criticisms in the offseason focused on the Dallas Cowboys’ disappointing culture, one of their ex-players has revealed some eye-opening information.
America’s Team is already going through a difficult offseason where there is endless speculation around their franchise quarterback’s future.
Jerry Jones is coming under fire that the Cowboys’ priorities are misplaced, with many faces suggesting the owner steps away from the football matters.
It is without question that the Cowboys function as a brand just like they do a football team.
This is one of the reasons why they are the most lucrative sports team in the world – Charlotte Jones is a big factor in that.
The one thing the Dallas Cowboys do not need this offseason is one of their former employers suggesting their operation could be vastly improved.

Houston tight end, Dalton Schultz, made the journey from Dallas to Houston in the 2023 offseason.
The 27-year-old has settled quickly and produced a satisfactory campaign in his first Houston Texans season.
According to the NFL, the former Cowboy has now been rewarded with a new three-year deal worth $36 million.
He became a reliable outlet for the rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud after being given an initial one-year deal.
Schultz will not be hitting free agency as he secures a new deal with the Texans.
Dalton Schultz explains Dallas Cowboys ‘zoo’
In the wake of the breaking news, Schultz took to the air on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show.
McAfee, the former Indianapolis Colts punter, asked how much the Texans’ experience has differed from the Cowboys and Schultz explained: “It was like much more, I don’t want to say college because it’s not but like, the focus is just football you know what I mean?
“Going back and telling some people how kind of being around the Cowboys practice facility and you know, and game day describing some of the interactions and stuff that you see on a day-to-day basis, surprises a lot of people and are like, holy crap, like, that actually happens at a practice facility?
“There are people literally going on tours while you’re lifting in the weight room, and they’ve got a one-way mirror for people to look, it’s literally, it’s a zoo, tapping on the glass, like trying to get people’s attention as they’re doing, you know, power cleans or what not.”
The former Cowboy implies that the fans going on tours are a distraction to the players’ training.
Jones and the franchise care more about the fan experience than the training that goes into making a successful team.
‘A well oiled-machine’
The Cowboys 2018 draft pick indicates that this is the brand of the Cowboys: “That’s the brand that they’ve built. That’s, you know, that’s what Jerry Jones likes.
Schultz was not short of praise for his new team’s organization: “This is also a really well-run organization in Houston. I wasn’t sure what another organization would kind of feel like, and dude, I got here and it was like, this is a well-oiled machine.”
