‘Stay out of the way’… Radio legend wants to see the back of Dallas Cowboys man as he brings ‘bad karma’

Many figures in the NFL industry have been trying to pin point the vital problem which is holding back the Dallas Cowboys.

Notable problems mentioned so far: is Dak Prescott of the required caliber to be leading the team? Is the run defense at the heart of last seasons woes? Could there be a cultural issue within the establishment or is Mike McCarthy not showing the Dallas Cowboys true potential?

Many people have their theories but Radio Hall of Famer, Chris Russo, has expressed a unique point of view.

From rags to riches to rags

America’s Team historically are one of the most successful franchises in NFL history. Now they are labelled as being the biggest underachiever in the last few decades.

The Cowboys dominated the field in the 1990s and legends like Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irwin and many more, formed one of the greatest sporting dynasties ever seen.

Between 1992 and 1995, the Cowboys claimed three Super Bowl titles. Total domination looked certain, but what nobody realized, 1995 was to mark their last Super Bowl and NFC Championship appearance up to the present day.

After three decades of absence from the grandest stage, everyone is being suspected of potential blame. From the bottom of the organization right to the executive lounge – no one is safe.

That includes owner, president and general manager, Jerry Jones.

Chris Russo has called out Jones, despite the latter winning three Super Bowl rings in his first seven seasons of purchasing the franchise.

The radio legend know as ‘Mad Dog’ has laid into the 2014 NFL Executive of the Year for being to hands on: “I don’t want Jerry Jones anywhere near my ball club.

“He is an owner, stay as an owner, and stay out of the way.

“I don’t want you on the field, I don’t want you do post-game interviews with the media, I don’t want you doing radio shows.

“There is no accountability with the Cowboys and the karma is always bad with that franchise. Why? Because the owner is too involved.”

Evidently, ‘Mad Dog’ would like for Jerry Jones to take a backseat position as he deems this to be why the franchise is starving for success.

Jones is here to stay

Damien Woody, a former NFL guard, hit back at the comments made by Russo on the Get Up show: “No he [Russo] is not right. Listen, first of all that is never gonna happen (Jones taking a backseat).

“Jones, he is the Owner/GM he isn’t going to give away the spotlight. You know what the Cowboys biggest problem is?

“Their stars don’t play like stars in the most pressure moments during a season, okay!

“The last time we saw the Dallas Cowboys they were getting a hole stomped in them by the Green Bay Packers, why? Because their best player didn’t show up at the most opportunistic time.

“This has nothing to with Jerry Jones.”

Jones is now 81-years-old and will not fade into the shadows anytime soon, he loves the Dallas Cowboys and wants the best for them.

There is no one in the establishment who wants to see the franchise return back to the glory days as much as Jerry Jones.
