Already in the third phase of the OTAs, the Dallas Cowboys still don’t have the presence of their main receiver.
Dallas picked up the fifth-year option on the CeeDe Lamb’s rookie contract, but the front office has already expressed a desire to extend his stay by a few years.
On Tuesday, the mandatory minicamp began and the wide receiver didn’t show up. He’s committed to continuing with his holdout, whatever the cost – literally.

What’s at stake if Lamb doesn’t take part in mandatory activities
Although the OTAs are voluntary, the off-season is reaching the point where practices become compulsory, and players who do not attend them will be fined.
If Lamb chooses to remain absent from mandatory duties, he could be fined more than $100,000.
Another factor that may have led to the player missing training camp is the huge contract that the Minnesota Vikings offered WR Justin Jefferson.
A four-year deal worth up to $140 million, including $110 million guaranteed. He became the highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
The annual average on Jefferson’s new contract is $35 million, almost double the $18 million Lamb will earn if he doesn’t sign an extension with Dallas.
Micah Parsons thinks Lamb deserves more money than Jefferson
Back in official practice with the team, Micah Parsons also skipped OTAs – for a different reason than the WR.
The pass-rusher used the time for voluntary activities to put head, body and spirit back together.
After Tuesday’s training session, Parsons spoke to the media. Obviously, he was asked about his teammate’s absence.
The America’s Team defender agrees with Lamb’s holdout. And he’s confident that the pass-catcher will soon be rewarded.
“CeeDee about to hit the brink truck. He about to get his. But I can’t think of someone more deserving. I think CeeDee is the best receiver in the league. If you ever want to argue it, top three, but in my eyes, seeing his mindset and how he comes every day, I think he deserves every penny.”
Parsons also hinted at Jefferson’s extension announcement with the Vikings: “If I’m his agent, CeeDee is getting $36 (million per year).”
Jerry Jones certainly has his next moves very well calculated.
