America’s Team is dealing with various contractual issues in the 2024 offseason and Micah Parsons is set to receive a juggernaut deal.

The Dallas Cowboys have been the most inactive team in the NFL offseason and there has been discontent amongst the media and fans about the front office’s handling.

Star quarterback Dak Prescott could be forced to play on a contract year because the price is too high for lack of playoff success.

CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons are absent for the team’s OTAs but for different reasons

Additionally, CeeDee Lamb withholds from the Cowboys’ second set of OTAs as he waits for the team to propose a deal.

Finally, hybrid defensive star Micah Parsons is entering his fourth season and is eligible for a veteran deal.

Parsons has also been a no-show at the Star in Frisco for the voluntary workouts. However, just like last season, the soon-to-be 26-year-old had been training separately and following his own workout.

He wants to pursue his offseason program to help him get in the best shape for the 2024 NFL season. Moreover, his absence has nothing do with his potential blockbuster contract.

Parsons is set to become the highest-paid defensive player with numerous accolades to his name

Nonetheless, one of the best defensive stars in the league is set to blow the market through the roof.

There is very little doubt that Parsons will be receiving a record-breaking contract. After three seasons, Parsons has earned, three All-Pro selections (two First-Team), three Pro Bowl invitations, and was awarded 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Since his debut, he has been one of the best defensive superstars in the league, alongside T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett. Furthermore, he has started and played in every single game possible in three seasons – a clean injury record.

Therefore, his portfolio will force the Cowboys to cough up a seismic deal for Parsons, who will be playing on his triggered fifth-year option as a cheaper defensive end.

Nick Wright encourages the Cowboys to get Parsons’ deal done as he knows the exact numbers

On First Things First, FS1 expert Nick Wright said he ‘knows’ what the Dallas star is set to receive.

“I can tell you right now Jerry and Stephen Jones, I know what Micah Parsons is going to sign for. Five years, $175 million, $130 million guaranteed, $35 million as season,” Wright explained on daytime TV.

“You know how I know it because Nicky Bosa signed for five years, 170, $122 million guaranteed. So, Micah is going to get a million more per year and a little bit more guaranteed. Whenever you do it, that’s the deal he is signing, so you might as well get that one done.”

Parsons set to be paid in line with Nick Bosa as he plays as a defensive end

Parson predominantly lines up on the edge as a hybrid linebacker, adopting the defensive end position.

This meant the Cowboys registered his fifth-year rookie trigger as a defensive end which is cheaper than a linebacker.

Under new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer he will be used identically to play to his strengths.

Parsons will become the highest-paid defensive player in the league and will be paid per Nick Bosa. Therefore, Wright encourages the franchise to sign him now because the price will not drop.
