Signing CeeDee Lamb should be the Dallas Cowboys’ #1 priority this offseason.
That’s the message from three-time Pro Bowl linebacker Micah Parsons to Jerry Jones ahead of what promises to be a busy summer.
Lamb is coming off his best season as a professional, breaking single-season franchise receiving records and achieving some unforeseen feats among NFL wide receivers along the way.
During the 2023 regular season, he had a career-high 1,749 receiving yards, second in the league behind Tyreek Hill, while leading the NFL in receptions (135) and catching 12 touchdown passes from Dak Prescott.
When does CeeDee Lamb’s contract expire?
After picking up the fifth-year option on Lamb’s rookie contract, the 24-year-old has one season left on his current deal.
In 2023, Lamb’s cap hit was over $4 million, but as things stand right now, that’ll jump up significantly to over $17 million next season per Spotrac.
Speaking to the NFL Network last week, Parsons said he wants the team to prioritize inking Lamb to a long-term deal.
“I know they gotta get CeeDee Lamb done. I think that’s the priority right now,” said Parsons.
What are CeeDee Lamb’s contract goals?
Like Parsons, CeeDee Lamb has made the Pro Bowl in each of his previous three NFL seasons while being named a First-team All-Pro in 2023.
He’ll get a massive salary boost in 2024, while a new deal would likely see him skyrocket up the salary charts for NFL wide receivers.

On Micah Parsons’ podcast “The Edge”, Lamb discussed what kind of extension he wants.
“I can’t give you … numbers right now,” Lamb said.
“But I’ll tell you this: (I want to be) one of the top-paid receivers for sure, if not the (highest-paid receiver). …
“That’s always the goal.”
How does CeeDee Lamb’s current contract compare to other wide receivers?
It would be an understatement to say that the Cowboys got a huge bargain out CeeDee Lamb in 2023.
The First-team All-Pro earned a base salary of just over $2.5 million this past season, according to Spotrac, massively less than you’d think given what he achieved.
Per Over the Cap, Lamb is not even the highest-paid wide receiver on the Cowboys roster in terms of full contracts.
That distinction goes to Michael Gallup at $57.5 million in total before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
Brandin Cooks is next on the Cowboys list, currently in the final year of his $20 million salary before his contract is void in 2025.
Tyreek Hill currently tops that NFL wide receivers list with an annual salary of $30 million.
That means if Lamb is to become the highest-paid receiver in the league, Jones will have to dig deep into his pocketbook and probably move some money around.
When the Cowboys selected Lamb at #17 in the 2020 NFL Draft, they did so in hopes that he could be the cornerstone of this franchise for years to come.
Lamb is beginning to live up to the hype, posting three straight 1,000-yard campaigns with more receiving yards and touchdowns in each of his seasons.
